Magnavox NB500MG1F Blu Ray Player SD Card Slot: I've been having trouble getting the SD card slot to read the videos I put onto the SD card. I've tried everything from converting all the video files to AVCHD file types as well as trying their original file types, unformatting the SD card, reformatting the SD card, trying different SD cards, trying different videos, and I'm still getting the same error message: "Media Device Error --Please check the Memory Device-- There is no playable file in the Memory Device, or the format is not available." Does anyone have any suggestions to try? Is there a certain format the SD card must be set to? Do the video files need to be converted to a certain format? All fix it suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You should know what kind of flashcard you need depends on the price and function, also on the
console you have! If you have a DS or DSi console, playing 3ds games is not a reality for you,
you should choose one from kinds of flashcards that support ds and dsi games! You have many
choice there, r4i gold, r4i dual-core, r4i sdhc and so on. They may have a little difference on
price, but that's doesn't matter! Function is another factor you must care, many people want
to use flashcard to play retro gba and snes games on ds, dsi and 3ds. At that time, you should
put functions that flashcards have in comparison though they have the most similar functions!

What formatting is necessary to play videos on the SD card slot of my Magnavox NB500MG1F Blu Ray Player?

The SD card is mainly for photos, but you can do video.
The SD card needs to be formatted as fat 16
The video has to be profile 1.1

If you use the larger SDHC cards, they can be formatted fat 32.
It works best if you format it with the player and not your computer.

Magnavox NB500MG1F Blu Ray Player: I've been having trouble getting the SD card slot to read the videos I put onto the SD card. I've tried everything from converting all the video files to AVCHD file types...

It is obvious to me that the player can't read the video off an SD drive. In my experience that card slot is for installing updated firmware not video material.

PROBLEM playing sd card

The slot is for playing many, but not all SD cards. What movies do you think it should "read"

What is a sd card fof

If you store movies on a SD memory card you can insert the SD memory card into this player to view the movie. You may have taken a video of your children on a video camera which stored the video on the SD memory card.
For information for viewing movies/videos on a SD memory card check out page 18 on the User manual.
If you do not have a manual then you can download the user manual from this WEB site

My Sharp Aquos LC-40E67UN is plugged into a Sony Blu Ray home theatre system BDV-IZ1000W. It is hooked up with an HDMI cable. I get sound but no picture on the TV. If I unplug and replug the HDMI cable...

Wow it seems as though you've pretty much done all of the applicable troubleshooting for this issue. The only other thing I can advise in this case is to consider purchasing a SD card. Some Blu Ray players require a little extra memory to function properly so they come with an SD card slot. Of course no one tells you this when you buy the player but it may be the solution to your problem.

My Curtis DVD1098B player will not read a camera SD card. It keeps telling me "bad card". I have tried a couple different cards that function fine in the cameras. How do I fix this?

Use a USB card reader (they only cost $10 if you can find them at biglots or something). I happen to have had one and the SD card is read from that. But the direct slot, the player will say "bad card" also. Cheap player.

When I put a SD card in the slot, it says SD ERR

hi, when it says SD error it must be some problem with the card or else the slot alone. so try a different SD card first. look at one important thing. see to that the lock in side of the card is released. also wipe the golden contacts in the card with a cotton dipped in alcohol. this must work for you. else revert back to us. thank you sweet rascal

Crank 2 blue ray plays in a small square

Hi, Ref common problem with Blu-ray players only playing crank 2 in a small section of the screen. It seems the film needs extra buffer memory on your player. If you have a card reader slot, ie USB or SD, put in a blank card and the film plays fine. I have Panasonic DMP-BD35 which has a SD slot on the front, i used a 32MB card and the film played with no problems. Hope this info helps.
