This could be a couple of issues, but unfortunately if it's your element, you would have to replace the entire element, not just the middle part. What's the rest of your model number? I can find a part number for you. (KECD806R****)

Had hob for 18months no problems, now two hotplates wont work & today the child lock light is on & nothing else will work, nothing.

remove the child lock setting and the remainder will work
those hot plates that were not working may need new switches, thermostats or replacement elements
call an accredited appliance electrician to get it all working again

2 Hot Plates won`t work

If it's a gas buner usually the pilot light tube is clogged. If it's electric either the switch or the electric element isdefective. Did they both go out at the same time?

The double hot plate only works in the center ring, and cannot be turned off except from the wall

I note this cooktop came with a 2 year warranty.

All of the elements are controlled by item 16 of this manual:

http://spares.bigwarehouse.com.au/file.php?document_id=6100

You will have to click on your model number to see it and probably have to enlarge the view.

The part number is 532037 but crosses to 533023 on several websites and sources.

If your having to pull the wall plug to shut it off this is the most probable failure.

Expensive part but most likely what it will take to correct your problem.

Triple Element does not burn on single mode.

I ordered a replacement part from Sears Direct and used their schematic for a guide.

Frigidaire ES340 Range One element from Dual element doesn't work

The elements DO BURN OUT. Replace it.

Often you can see evidence of a hot spot on the element where the final failure occured, but not always.

Cooking element

Hello
If the grilling elements does not get hot enough, then the main reasons for that are:
Escessive air movement across the grill.
Surface controls may not be properly set.
and the voltage maybe low.
But if is not getting hot at all then you can check by exchainging the elements to see if it is the element itself, and if it is the element then you will need to replace it.
I hope this help!!
If you need to replace it I know a place that are very cheap for Jenn-Air parts and super fast delivery...Let me know.
