If you are scanning wirelessly, you have to launch the epson scan software from your computer and scan to e-mail from there. You can scan using either professional or home mode.
Please take note that scanning from the printer only supports direct connection, which means you have to plug in the printer to your computer via a usb cable.
If you cannot launch epson scan, please let me know. And include the operating system that you are using too.

Hi you should clean the print head and you need to take out the cartridge and pay close attention as you put it back into the printer because it may not be fitted in place properly.

Hi, that black line is most likely caused by a spot of dirt or paper dust. When you feed paper through the auto-feeder, it gets scanned by the thin strip of glass next to the large flat platen glass. A spot of dirt on this glass will show up in each pixel across your page, resulting in a line on your copy.
Generally, just wiping this strip of glass down with a dry lint-free cloth will get rid of the dirt. If it's stubborn and still there, you can scrape it off with your finger if you can see it. (See where it lines up on the page.) Alcohol and a lint-free rag also works well for cleaning this glass, but be sure to dry it before use.
Did that do the trick?
