My laptop screen can't unlock and has lock and screen icon and I don't know the password
Remove the cmos battery. The cmos, ( complemetary metal oxide semiconductor ) is a memory chip that stores the bios for computers. If that lock icon is pointing to bios , remove the cmos battery, located on the mother board will fix the problem. For removal and replacement refer the the hardware maintenance manual for t61.
Hello, You will have to get a program called password cracker in order to get past this screen. Here is the website for this.
SOURCE: Unable to start up/unlock computer
This laptop has a power on password. There are no backdoor passwords available and removing in BIOS battery won't fix this problem because the password is stored on an EEPROM chip.
I'm not sure which EEPROM chip is used in you model laptop, but if it is the Atmel 24RF08 chip then you can hack into this to recover the password. For information on how to do this go to :-
