On page 146 of the manual it says you have to take it to a service center, this tells me the device needs to be opened to trip the bios battery. If BIOS reset is not part of your warranty then you will need to either pay a service center or open the device yourself remove the BIOS battery, turn the computer on then off and replace the BIOS battery. The BIOS will be reset to default and your BIOS password cleared. REMEMBER opening the device WILL VOID WARRENTY!!!

I want break our vaio vgn-sz440 bios password.i forget it

BIOS password can only reset by changing Jumper settings on the Motherboard. For this you need to open your notebook. You have to be very cautious while doing this, if you are not comfortable doing this, take your notebook to a nearest Computer repair shop. You can refer videos on Youtube to achieve this as there is no other way aroud to reset BIOS password.

Hi, I have a VGN UX280P and tried to install windows xp from scratch and does not boot from the CD or from USB I've configured the bios and nothing

You will have to go into the bios and change the device boot order if you haven't done this already. Google ( how to change boot order )
if you don't know how and you will find many tutorials.

Good luck and please rate if this was helpful.

Default bios password of sony vgn-ux280p

This information is intended for experienced users. It is not intended for basic users, hackers, or computer thieves. Please do not try any of following procedures if you are not familiar with computer hardware. I'll not be responsible for the use or misuse of this information, including personal injury, loss of data or hardware damage. So use it at your own risk.

A. By Using the Motherboard Jumper:

In most motherboards CMOS battery is soldered, which makes it difficult to remove the battery. In this case we use another method.

Almost all motherboards contain a jumper that can clear all CMOS settings along with the BIOS password. The location of this jumper varies depending upon the motherboard brand. You should read your motherboard manual to check its location. If you don't have the manual then look for the jumpers near the CMOS battery. Most of the manufacturer label the jumper as CLR, CLEAR, CLEAR CMOS, etc.

When you find the jumper, look carefully. There will be 3 pins and the jumper will be joining the center pin to either left or right pin. What you need to do, is remove the jumper and join the center pin to the opposite pin. e.g. if the jumper joins center pin to left pin, then remove it and join center pin to right pin. Now wait for a few seconds and then again remove the jumper and join the center pin to left pin.

Make sure to turn the PC off before opening the cabinet and resetting the jumper.

B. By Using Software:

I have found that BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:
BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is a program that works instantly to remove any lost or forgotten BIOS/CMOS password. Simply boot your PC to DOS and execute the program, and get access to forgotten BIOS/CMOS passwords in just seconds

Sony vaio VGN FJ290P password reset sony vaio VGN FJ290P

I have set the password for administrator when i entered the bios set up. you can change its setting but not the configuration unless you've entered the password. you can't change the password with a new one if you cant enter the old password. Next time dont forget your password because laptops has its security even when stolen you cant open its bios set up if its protected by password. CMOS battery is in the mother board. You need a service technician to open your laptop to reset the bios setup battery.
