When we had the R15 (we have since upgraded) we could record two channels at once with no trouble. You have to have two satellite connections in the back (since it uses a separate tuner for each channel) and you cannot watch a third channel while recording two others - if you're going to watch, you have to watch one of the two shows you're recording.
Hi my nameis Mike Houston of DISH Network and I see you can not watch recordings on TV2and you can't watch and record at the same time. The first thing you will wantto do is make sure the receiver is in Dual mode, I will send a link to helpwith these steps and if the problem still persist please e-mail me at [email protected]. http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/same-video-2-tvs
If you have a dual receiver, you can record to TV 2 and watch any program on TV 1. If you have 2 recordings taking place at the same time, you can only watch what is being recorded.
With a dual receiver, you can place the receiver in single mode and watch a different program even if 2 recording are taking place. In single mode both TV 1 and TV 2 will be watching the same program.
A solo DVR you can record to tuner 2 and watch what you want on TV 1. With the VIP 622 receiver, you have the Record Plus option, you can have all recording go to TV 2. If 2 recordings take place, then TV 1 and TV 2 are used.
Okay, we can do this. Go to the menu on the satellite at either TV locations. and press 8 then 5. You are now at the Record Plus screen. Move the highlight to the record preferenceand toggle up or down to the desired record preference. After this ensure that you select enable on the activation side of the screen. You will then need to select done. Now you are in business! Thanks ffor using Fix Ya.
unplug the satellite cables from the dvr and restart it. it may or may load. if it does u can watch pre-recorded programs that are still on the hard drive
You can accomplish this by either going to the specific TV and selecting the record option at the time the program is about to come on or you can press menu-8-5 and change the record preferences. You can either set the DVR to record programs to the TV2 location by default or TV1 by enabling the record plus feature. In dual mode without record plus enabled all programs you select to record default to the tuner you are viewing e,g, if watching tv1 and selecting to record a program in the future it will record to the tv1 location. In single mode all recordings default to tv2 so you can continue to watch live tv from tv1. I hope this answers your question and thanks for using Fix Ya. Let me know if I can further assist you.
i am not terribly familiar with these systems but there are probably two sattelite in ports on the back of the receiver, one is a line for watching one program or recording, the other strictly for recording, one of these inputs is probably no longer receiving signal
Sounds like your DVR is running out of space try to free up some space on the DVR.Also there is a little bit of space at the end of the show after it prompts you to delete the show not much though. If you have plenty of space on the DVR simply increase the time it records by 3 minutes.that should take care of your problem.
