Anybody have their set stay on for 15 minutes, then make a pop sound and go black? The blue light then flashes over and over till I unplug and replug it in 5 times or so.

Is the powerboard bad, does the firmware need an update? Any suggestions? I've been looking around a and a lot of people say that similar issues are due to power issues, either a board fry or something that can be fixed with a firmware update. I'm not a Toshiba TV guy though and don't know!

SOURCE: Toshiba 42hp83 plasma power supply problem?

I had the same problem. It turned out that one of the cooling fans get dusty and does not work. I opened the back of the Toshiba plasma TV and cleaned the failed fan, and it worked like a champ.

SOURCE: Toshiba 47HL167's screen has gone Completely Black

I don't know if you guys are still looking for an answer but turn the TV on where you can here that something is actually playing on the TV then grab a flashlight and turn all the lights off. Get real close to the screen and shine the flashlight on the screen. Can you see something on the screen? If you can then there is a very good chance that one of the inverter boards are out. This could be the slave or the master. For the 47" I actually have the same issue and have ordered the master inverter board. For the 42" I have both the master and the slave board and they are both working. So for the person that has that issue on the 42" TV if you want a board for your TV email me at [email protected]. For the one with the 47" flip a coin and order an inverter board for it either master or slave and try it. To determine which inverter board it is you would have to take the DC voltage across the start and then the end to see if you are getting any power. I hope this helps. By the way inverter boards usually run between 60-120 dollars each and the slave board on both these TV's are easy to install. The master is a little harder due to the power button board is in front of it and has to be removed first. Let me know if this helped.

Mitsubishi wd-73738 turns itself back on

Hi,

It sound like the remote is powering off the cable box but not the TV. The remote control may need to be reprogrammed to the TV. When you press power it may only power off the Cable box. At that point, try pressing the TV button on your remote and then Power. If it does not power off the tV after pressing the tV button, the remote may need to be reprogrammed to the tv. Cable companies usually have the codes needed to program their remotes to the TVs.

Tv stays on for 15-20 minutes and then picture blacks out, Can't turn back on. Unplug and plaug in again but still only last 15 - 20 minutes. new lamp, no difference.

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

My Philips 50PF7321D/37 TV picture turns blue after about 30 secs of being on and I cant seem to get it to stop. Also when I turn the TV on it has a black screen with sound for about 15 secs before it

Unplug both the set and a box or receiver if used with the set, remove from power for several minutes and replug all to see if a reboot will help or not.

If i turn my computer off for whatever reason, when i try to turn it back on, the monitor remains black, the blue power light flashes and the monitor emits this horrible hissing sound. I can eventually get...

Try this, no guarantees but it may need to be reset. Make sure PC is turned off. Disconnect the monitor from the PC and unplug it from the wall. Hold in the Power button for at least sixty seconds, then replug it in PC and wall. If it is reset it should start normally. If not it needs further diagnosis.
