Unfortunately this is a common occurrence. We say one name and it
says, "did you say..." something totally different. I think that most
of us has had that experience. The Bluetooth headsets that have a
longer "boom" type mic will pick up your voice better and have a better
chance at hearing your voice properly the first time. Models like the
Plantronics Voyager Pro+ and the WG100/B have a boom type microphone.
The WG100/B also includes a UBS Bluetooth adapter so it can be used on a
pc.
Here are a couple of things you can try. I included the link for the user guide below.
Callers cannot hear me. • Headset is muted. Press the mute button on headset to unmute the microphone.
• Headset microphone boom aligned incorrectly. Align the headset boom with your mouth. •
The USB adapter is not set as the default Voice device. Use the Voice
settings in Windows under Sounds and Voice Devices to select
"Plantronics C610/C620" as the voice device.
Try using the headset on a different phone. This will narrow down if it's a compatibility issue with your phone or a defective headset. If you pair to a different phone and experience the same dead microphone, that means the headset is the issue. If it's less than a year old, you can have it replaced directly from Plantronics. Plantronics tech support can be reached at 1-800-544-4660 x 5538.
Go into the computer's "control panel" and "audio devices", just to
make sure that the Plantronics GameCom 377 is listed as the default
device for both the microphone and listening. You sometimes have to
designate the headset within the individual software programs as well.
If you are using a Mac computer your Plantronics .Audio headset will not
work The microphone plug on the .Audio analog headsets is not
compatible with a
Mac. It will physically fit into the Mic input jack on a Mac; however,
it will not function. Basically, the digital sound card does not
recognize the analog signal coming in from the headset.
The CS351N is a noise canceling headset, one of the better ones at doing
that and there is no special button to change that feature. You can try
bringing the microphone closer to your mouth and bringing the volume
down so the microphone is not as sensitive. You can try moving away from
the other user (probably impractical) or ask them to tone down the
volume.
Try deleting your Plantronics Voyager Pro from your phone and then
repair them to each other. Sometimes this does correct any issues you
may be having. The link for the user guide is included below.
Remember that newer phones are like small computers, so they may become
corrupt over time and you may need to reset them every so often. Simply
turn your phone off and remove the battery for a few seconds, then
replace the battery and turn it back on again. If this does not resolve
the issue, delete the pairing information for your Explorer 330 headset
and pair it with your phone again. The link below for the Plantronics
Explorer 330 has the pairing information.
All the Plantronics USB computer headsets have noise-canceling
microphones. So, if yours is picking up all the noise around you, there
is something wrong with your headset. If it's still under warranty,
contact Plantronics at 800-544-4660
x5 x5538 for warranty service. If not, it may be time to get a new headset.
Thanks a bunch!
