If you switch the speakers, the sound goes to the right? if yes, your amplifier will be damaged. if not, you speaker or speaker cable is damaged. If you don't have the skills to repair an amplifier, don't even open the thing. Just visit a repair centre, to limit the damage (and costs for repair)
Manrantz often uses components with different (own) codes, so it could be difficult to replace any component you find defective. Without a service manual I even would not start a repair.

invert the speaker cables if the problem went to right speaker you will find a problem in your left speaker(cable or speaker)-if not you will have a problem in your amp itself.

Go directly to the main amp, follow the leads from the speaker terminals. And you should find something on an heatsink. If there are two transistors see if they are running hotter than the other channel. If you see any damage to them (compare with good channel) replace both!
If all you see is a black box with pins coming out of it you need to replace that. They sometimes have the letters STK on them.
Replace both types with the letters and numbers of the same type. IE 2SC 1220 or STK 589.

switch input cables and try this will confirm if the amp has a problem or the input signal

First of all , the fault of a unequal volume levels is a fault to be looked in with some expertise. This is because of the fact that there is no failure but a difference in gain in some stages. If you have crossed over the speakers and confirmed that the fault is definitly in the amplifier. Now you will need to check first with a multimeter for diffferent bias in the preamp and power amp stages. If you have evidencce of a difference cross check to confirm. Next apply an audio signal from an injector and test from the preamp to the power amp. The section where the gain was noticed must be looked into and the gain corrected by checking variation of resistor/ capacitor values. You will need to replace fromt he working side- crossing the good part- to confirm the part before you buy and replace. Try this out but do it with caution when the circuit is powered , attempt only if confident and familiar with circuits. Hope I could help. Good day

Hi...
My 1st thought would be a broken contact or 2 inside on the main volume control...
Is the balance set to middle?
Is it the same with headphones?
Testimonial: "Thanks for that. I took the back off and blew it all out. Checked all the plugs then re assembled. Bingo !! all is good. Thank you"
