You can load up to 100 sheets of 20 lb plain paper or up to 20 sheets of photo paper.

  7. Slide the edge guide to the edge of the paper, but not too tightly.

    pm_paperload_220_er.gif

Follow these guidelines when loading paper:

    • Do not load paper above the arrow on the edge guide.

    • If multiple pages feed at once, remove the paper from the sheet feeder, fan the edges to separate the sheets, then reload it.

    • If you're printing on both sides of the paper, try loading fewer sheets.

    • If it's wrinkled when it ejects, the paper may be damp or too thin.

    • Do not load paper with holes punched in it for insertion in a binder.

    • Load the printable side face-up. It's often brighter or whiter than the other side.

    • Load letterhead or preprinted paper top edge first.

    • If you experience paper feeding problems, try loading fewer sheets.

    • If you're using special paper, check the package for special loading instructions.
Follow these steps to reload paper in the Automatic Document Feeder:

  1. Remove the paper and make sure it's not curled or wrinkled.

  2. Tap the originals on a flat surface to even the edges.

  3. Move the edge guides outward.

  4. Insert the originals face-up. You can load up to 30 letter-size sheets at a time. If you load legal-size sheets, insert only 10 sheets at a time. Make sure the originals are not creased or folded and do not have tape, staples, or other materials that could obstruct the feeder.

Quits printing and screen says "need service"

A: Power the printer on and press the Load/Eject button to see if
paper will load. If no paper loads, make sure the paper isn't
curled or creased, isn't too old, isn't loaded above the arrow on
the left edge guide, and that the paper isn't jammed in the printer.
If the Paper Out light is on solid, reload the paper, making sure
the paper edge guide is adjusted to fit the paper's width, and then
press the Load/Eject button again to see if the paper will now load.
If the Paper Out light is flashing, turn the printer off, reload
the paper, turn the printer back on, and try pressing Load/Eject
again to see if the printer will now successfully load the paper.
If the printer still will not load paper, power the printer off,
remove the printer cable, and make sure all of the packing materials
are removed. If the problem persists, the printer may need to be
sent in for service and you should contact the EPSON Connection for
assistance.

I am getting a supply Rec Paper Cassette alarm error. How do i fix this and have it work again.

Hi ..

This error comes when the paper is not loaded properly in the cassette ... Follow the below instructions to load the cassette and I am sure you will not get the error again.

  1. Grip the cassette handle, and pull it out towards you until the cassette comes to a stop.
    remove_cassette_tray.gif

  2. Open a package of paper, and remove the paper stack. small_note.gif black_dot.gif If the paper is curled, uncurl it before placing it in the cassette. Failure to do so will cause paper creases and a paper jam. black_dot.gif 17 lb to 20 lb bond (64 to 80 g/m2 ) paper is acceptable. black_dot.gif The cassette holds up to approximately 500 sheets of 20 lb bond (80 g/m2 ) paper.

  3. Load the paper stack beneath the cassette's length guide (1) and width guide's claw (2).
load_paper_in_cassette.gif small_note.gif black_dot.gif Make sure that the paper stack does not exceed the length and width guides' claws in the cassette. Failure to do so will cause a paper jam. black_dot.gif Do not load extra paper when there is still paper left in the cassette. black_dot.gif Only load one size of paper into the cassette. Do not load different sizes of paper into the cassette at the same time. black_dot.gif Do not load labels or transparencies into the cassette.

  4. Gently insert the cassette as far as it will go.
small_note.gif black_dot.gif The cassette is for plain paper, colored paper or recycled paper only. Loading other paper in the cassette may cause a paper jam. black_dot.gif If copies are curled, or a paper jam occurs, remove the paper stack from the cassette. Turn it over and then place it in the cassette. black_dot.gif If you load paper while making copies, do not load a different paper size.
Closing the cassette When closing the cassette, make sure to push it in completely as far as it will go. If copying is performed when the cassette is not pushed in completely, it will cause a paper jam.

If copy paper is sticking out of the cassette Sometimes, when you pull out the cassette, paper may stick out, as shown in the illustration below. Make sure that the paper is neatly loaded into the cassette, before you push the cassette back into the main unit.
