Universal Remote Code for Dynex 20" TV/DVD

I just bought a 32" dynex lcd and saw that i couldn't program my two $5 ge remotes to work it. From reading in this forum and others I'm not the only one with the problem, I thought I was stuck with only the dynex remote. But the dynex website tells you how to get universal remotes to work,
It tells you to try the codes for Orion, Emerson, Memorex, Sansui, Sylvania, Zenith. The second orion code worked for me. both my ge remotes look and work the same but one uses a four digit code and the other uses a three digit code. I used 0135 on one and 135 on the other. There is a good chance that if you try the codes for the brands dynex lists you will find one that works. The 0135 or 135 might work for most dynex tv's.
If you have a ge remote and haven't programmed it for volume punch through you might try it. It allows the tv volume to be controlled using the ge remote even when it's set to something other than tv.

Most programmable remotes have a search mode......
1) TV power on
2) Activate search, set or program
3) Touch TV device button
4) Point remote at tv and push power off repeatedly, up to 200
times, until tv turns off.....
5) Push enter to lock code
6) Test all functions

after buying 2 universal remotes that salespeople reccommended and neither working with my dynex tv/dvd combo, i went to the dynex website. They reccommended a few that would work, the cheapest one being $30. But I figured if it worked it was worth it considering my dog ate the original. i tried setting it up without any luck so i called the dynex 1800 number. The guy told me that i needed to have the original remote in order to set up the universal remote! Why would I even need the universal remote if i had the original??? So basically, these combo tv's require the original remotes in order to use the dvd player. Universal remotes will only work the tv. SO.....save yourself time and money and order the original remote. Bestbuy.com has the dx-ltdvd22-09 original remote for $5. I just wish I had found out this before I had spent over $50 on 3 remotes that don't work.

I HAVE AN OLD TUBE DYNEX TV /DVD PLAYER AND I AM LOST AT WHAT UNIVERSAL REMOTE TO GET AND IF IT WILL WOEK FOR THE DVD PLAYER AS WELL.??? PLEASE HELP
