SOURCE: Kenmore # 63142 Fridge -- Water in Freezer

If water drains out, then there is always a blockage somewhere on drain line.

Defrost the unit completely to get rid of ice building inside drain lines.

If that does not work , then the drain line must be unlocked using a flexible shaft.

Need a diagram of Amana top freezer refrigerator model #ATB2132ARW My fridge has a clogged drain tube, but I can't locate the drain.

I can't find a diagram but have a different model Amana. The drain tube on mine was located just above the drip pan under the refrigerator. It was a soft plastic/rubber and had become clogged due to something sticky that stuck it together. Caused the freezer water to back up and after cleaning the tube, I had to defrost the refrigerator completely to melt the ice blocking the tube at th top (in the freezer). Sorry I can't help with more info.

It has a clogged drain tube and bottom trays is already full.
De-clogged it using a solid wire, match enough to penetrate the drain tube.
Insert solid wire slowly to the drain tube, back and forth.
Put water to clean and rinse drain tube.
Regularly check drain tube for clogged and tray for full water.
Good luck.

There is a hole in the bottom rear of the freezer of my side by side full of water and the over flow is frozen all across the bottom and it leaks onto the floor

How To Clear the Drain Tube Before clearing the drain tube, unplug the refrigerator or shut off the power at the fuse box or breaker panel to avoid an electrical shock hazard. Your refrigerator has a drain that leads to the exterior drain pan beneath the refrigerator. Occasionally this drain can become clogged resulting in standing water inside your refrigerator. A similar drain exists in the freezer, which when clogged results in ice build up on the floor of the freezer.
The drain is located either on the floor of the refrigerator, beneath the vegetable crisper, or in the wall behind a drain funnel.
Clear the drain by forcing a solution of water and bleach or water and baking soda into it with a basting syringe. If the solution will not flow through, slide a length of 1/4 inch or smaller flexible tubing into the drain tube to push the clog through to the drain pan. Remove the tubing after clearing the clog.

Hi maabjcraft,

Have you tried clearing the drain tube?

No drain plug in freezer to drain water out when defrosting?

The drain hole is behind the back wall underneath the evaporator coil. Im guessing you have ice on the freezer floor. This is because the drain tubing from the freezer to the drain pan underneath is clogged. There will likely be ice that will need to be defrosted in the drain tubing in order to get to the clog. Once the ice is removed, I use compressed air when I perform this refrigerator repair service.

Water draining into bottom of freezer and freezing.

Your freezer has a drain that leads to the exterior drain pan beneath the unit. Occasionally this drain can become clogged resulting in standing water inside your freezer, due to line freeze over. In the freezer, standing water will become ice and may result in defrost problems or inadequate coldness.

You will need to Clear the drain by forcing a solution of water and bleach or water and baking soda into the drain line with a basting syringe. If the solution will not flow through, slide a length of ¼ inch flexible tubing into the drain tube to push the clog through to the drain pan. Remove the tubing after clearing the clog. This will correct the issue.

Ice builds up in freezer bottom pan, not going down the drain tube. Is this an indicator of the defrost timer not working correctly, and if so where is the drfrost timer on a ETIFTTXKT02 model?

Defrost timer is working or there would not be water/ice in the bottom pan (as you describe it.). Check that the drain tube from the pan to the bottom evaproation tray under the refrigerator is clear of restriction.

Water is accumulating in the bottom freezer and freezing...I continually have to chisel it out. We have tried defrosting it but have the same problem a few days later.

Hi.This will normally be caused by a clogged drainage hose or plug. There is a drain leading out of the freezer and another from the refrigerator. In top freezer models, the freezer may drain the water onto the back wall. It actually runs down the wall to the refrigerator floor drain. In other cases, there may be a drain tube leading out the freezer. The refrigerator drain is either located on the floor of the refrigerator, beneath the vegetable crisper, or in the wall behind a drain funnel. In side-by-side models, the freezer and refrigerator will probably each have an outlet to the drain pan under the appliance.

Clear the drain by forcing a solution of water and bleach or water and baking soda into it with a basting syringe. If the solution will not flow through, slide a length of ¼ inch flexible tubing into the drain tube to push the clog through to the drain pan. Remove the tubing after clearing the clog.
