Engine stopped suddenly, when I tried to restart there was no compression

you bumped the kill switch on handle bar.

could be valve needs set. if it isn't opening at the right time it wont release compression for it to start. it may be the shear key in the flywheel has sheared if you have hit something like a big rock or log or something causing it to die suddenly.

Be sure the oil is exactly on full mark as most of these generators will not start if off the mark. They are built that way to ensure the engines don't burn up.

you must RUN the scanner /computer for easy diagnostic and fix it.

It could be a short in the magnito a dirty carb prob. Or foul plug also use fresh gas to narrow the broblem. I almost forgot check the compression.

If you have a known good starter on it and all the wiring to starter and relay is good, you may have a locked up (siezed) engine from lack of oil pressure or runnung hot. I would try turning engine by hand (put a socket and ratchet on the balancer bolt) and try turning it, if it doesn't turn then it is locked up.

200° is quite warm...
If the engine wont turn over, probabily you have a bad battery, a bad starter or a bad starter relay, or bad connections.

A hot engine has more compression. If the full battery power doesn't reach the starter it won't turn over...

Pull out the spark pugs so, there is no longer compression. Put a wrench on the crankshaft pully. The engine will turn and the pistons will travel up and down. This is of course it the engine hasn't seized. If the engine turns its the starter. Simple.
