If your power outage wad caused by a surge your tv may have died. Check fusebox for tripped circuit breaker also check tv wall plug fuse in case that has blown. It might be that the tv internal fuse has blown, you should disconnect the tvv from the electricity supply if you intend opening the rear of the set to check this.

you need to go to lg service in your area. they will get the part for you.should not cost to much . because the problem could be the sensor of the television or some faulty components. Hope this works.....
Try taking the batteries out of the remote, then pressing the power button on the remote for 5 seconds. Then replace the batteries. This should have reset the remote and should work.
