The original remote is broke. I always had to hit the video button on the remote so I could use the dvd player or playstation. Is there another way to get to video mode?

Hi:
Using remote locate a button called tv/video or Input, turn on the DVD player and hit this button until you see your DVD player Logo. Most dvd players use either video 1 or 2, or componet or HDMI outputs. Seems you have changed the TV's input back to TV mode and you need to change it to a video mode input.
Sorry to hear about the original remote, we would be happy to help with getting your DISH remote programmed to your Curtis DVD player. Here is a list ofcodes that should address your DISH Network remote to your Curtis DVD player: 678, 679, 683, 585, 592, and 594. Start by pressing and holding the DVD/VCR button located on the top of the remote until allthe mode buttons at the top of the remote light up, then release. Use thenumber buttons to enter one of the codes for your Curtis DVD player, thenpress the pound (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, the modelight flashes three times. To check that the code works try several different functions on the remote tomake sure it will properly operate your DVD player. Keep in mind that somecodes may not be compatible with your equipment. If this is the case, pleasetry the other codes listed for that device until you find one that iscompatible with your equipment. We hope this helps and thank you forbeing a valued DISH Network customer!

you should have an input button. if so press the button until you get to the input that your dvr/vcr player is on. if you do not have a input button got to the menu button and you should be able to change the input thru the menu.
I just sorted this on my own dvd player. push HDD and DVD buttons on the front of the player together for 3+ secs. Menu will display DR-OFF. Do the same again menu will disolay DR-2. On the remote push mode and "2" together and ths will put the remote into DR-2 mode. All should now be well.
Make sure to switch the TV's tuner mode to Video or Aux mode.
You can change the mode using the original TV remote or directly from the TV's control panel.
Again, tuner mode picks up all live broadcast airwaves and Video or Auxillary mode displays what is inputed into the TV via second device..
put the machine in dvd mode and press the rec mode button on the remote(right next to the rec button on the bottom) hit the button until you get to the desired mode. i just changed mine and i am copying now from vhs to dvd and it did say it is recording in ep mode, so fingers crossed!
