Why P/N :WDBACY5000ABK -00 recognized but not shown in my computer

This error is also find on installing Primavera P6 on windows 7. When this error comes then don't uninstall & re-install Primavera P6, Its quite easy to solve this issue by just copying the Language folder from the setup folder to the installed location as shown in the error message.

External hard drives usually do not need drivers. That being said, the drive may need it's firmware updated which usually can be done without losing any data from the drive. Just need to visit WD website.

What hapened to the drive before it stopped working, does it fell down? try to listen to drive very carefully, does it spinning ? are there any abnormal noises e.g click... or beeps ?

You can download Norton Utilities (30 day trial version) to test this hard drive and it is possible that this software can fix it. This is the download link:

No! replace the hardware, there is no user servicable parts, besides when they are dropped or stepped on it is game over.

click start control panel administrive tools ,computer management ,device manager look through all of your devices if you see a yellow question mark?or exclamation mark ! or red x
right click to reinstall drivers or
if you can see your usb but its not working
ports(com&lpt)right click update driver
if your computer came with a motherboard disk the drivers could be on it
sometimes the wires inside the cable will be damaged due to bending or stretching or placing heavy equipment upon the cable,
just replace the cable of the hard disk, when you plugged the external disk drive you got that windows could recognize the USB device change the cable everything should work fine again,
check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red-white-green-black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems

WHAT EVER YOU DO, MAKE SURE THAT THE MACHINE IS "OFF" WHEN CONNECTING THE DRIVE. YOUR SYSTEM WILL FIND THE "SES" DRIVER. GO TO MY COMPUTER,LOOK AT THE DRIVES ,THERE MAY BE A DRIVE THAT SAYS, WD OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, CLICK OPEN,CLICK UNLOCK(if there is security) ENTER PASSWORD. OR DOUBLE CLICK SMARTWARE. !!! BUT THERE IS A 32 OR 64 BIT!!!! YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHICH ONE TO CLICK.IF THIS DOES NOT HELP, THEN REMOVE PROGRAM, THEN RESTART SEE WHAT HAPPENS. I ALSO ADVISE TO DOWNLOAD THE CORRECT "PDF" USER MANUAL FROM WD HOPE THIS HELPS.....JEFFXC

Yes it should recognize such small drive. Note that the partitions on the drive will affect how big drives are shown.

If the drive is partitioned into two 10GB parts then you should have C: 10GB and D: 10GB

Note that if the drive is partitioned not to use the full capasity then the capasity it is partitioned to will be shown instead.

Also Note that computer hard drives the capasity is not accurate presentation of the GB available. it will always be somewhat less than the reported size, for example 1000GB disk is shown as 931.50GB
500GB disk is shown as 465.76GB and so on.
