I JUST LOOKED UNDER RCA.COM AND FOUND THIS .. IM TO AM HAVING THIS PROBLEM.. ITS THE LAMP. IT SAYS IT ONLY NEEDS A FLAH HEAD SCREW DRIVER TO GET TO IT BUT YOU NEED THE HEX WRENCHES TO OPEN THE BACK UP.. THE LAMPS ARE RATHER EXPENSIVE. BUT I WILL TRY THIS BEFORE I PAY 216.00 FOR A SERVICE CALL THAT DOES NOT APPLY TO THE WORK DID ON THE TELEVISION..SO I NEED TO ORDER THIS LAMP...HOW BOUT YOU..

SOURCE: RCA 50: HDTV, just started shutting itself off and won't come back on for several minutes or over an hour what could cause this

My friend had the same problem. There is some display bulb that is on its way out. They aren't cheap. Find a 2nd hand TV parts/repair shop, They usually have cheap used ones from discarded units, and will know what you need!

RCA LED42C45RQ 42" LED LCD HDTV Shutting Off by itself

These flat panel tv's from china have cheap capacitors. Check to see if any capacitors have pushed up top, this indicates blown or dry capacitor. Replace with exact value, in the power supply area (is where they go bad). TV has a monitoring circuit, and if standby (or ready voltage) is not adequate, tv will shut off or stay in standby mode. Little tired today, so hope that gives you an adequate answer.

We have the RCA HD52w59 projection tv. The tv shuts itself off at different intervals. It takes approximately 1 minute to be able to turn the power button back on, however, I have to do that many times...

A problem in the deflection board. Could be a Cap. Resoldering the deflection board may take care of the problem. You need to call a TV man to do this kind of work.

Best of luck

I have an RCA HD52W59. When I came home today, it tries to cycle 3 times and shuts off. There is no picture and no sound

Thats usually related to the CP150, CP120 and CP114 capacitors needing replacement. You can get the RCA repair kit by that same name from www.tvrepairworld.com the kit has instructions also.
