You should have a manual with instructions on the setup procedure. If not contact the support on their web page.

SOURCE: How do i/can i record tv to a DVD ]

If your using RCA cables (thats the red, white & yellow leads) you need run yellow RCA from the 'VIDEO (or) TV OUTPUT' at the back of your tv, to the 'VIDEO (or) TV INPUT' in the back of your DVD/VCR combo unit, & do the same with the red & white 'AUDIO' leads only run them from AUDIO OUTPUT(tv) to AUDIO INPUT(dvdrecorder). Now set the mode of the dvd recorder to TV IN or AUX IN. Now it should record whatever you see on the tv screen. But if your tv has an S VIDEO OUTPUT option, using an S VIDEO cable would be much easier & produces a better copy! Hope this helps!

I have a Goldstar VCR and I want to record a tv program using it. How do I do it?

Most Goldstar VCRs only have an analog tuner. (TVs do not often have an option to output their video to another device.)

So first what is the source of the TV program? If it is an OTA analog or CATV cable. Set up the VCR normally by connecting the incoming signal cable to the VCR and then use the coax out to the TV. Scan for channels and set the VCR to record the desired program. (Either use the timed record or one touch record method.)

If your source is digital, you will need a set top box (either a digital to analog converter or cable box). To split an incoming OTA signal between your TV and the converter box, you can use a switch or a splitter. (A splitter will give lower signal strength to both the TV and the converter box.)

Depending on the box, you can either connect a coax cable from the box to the VCR and then to the TV or composite video from the box to the VCR. If you use coax, set the converter to channel 3 or channel 4 and record that channel. Otherwise set the VCR to record Line 1.

To record, put in a tape with sufficient space available with an intact safety tab. For One Touch Recording, set the VCR to the desired channel and tape speed. Then press Rec. Press several time for a timed recording. For Timed recording, press Menu > Program. Press Select and move through the list to program day to record, the start/stop time, and channel, etc. When done, press Menu to save the setting. The timer light should come on (most VCRs will turn off).

I hope this helps.

I have a dvd/vcr rrecorder with no coaxial connection. How can I tape or record a TV program?

Hi,first of all I assume that your Magnavox DVD/VCR Dual Player has the recording features as well..othervise you cant do anything"NEGATIVE" ..If yes than follow the procedure below..
If you want to record your TV program while watching to your DVD/VCR system you need to connect "Video - Audio Output " RCA jacks or "Optic cable output" of your TV or CABLE box to "Audio-Video input or "Optic Cable input" of the DVD
There you go..Your TV's video and sound is on the
DVD/VCR Dual Player Receiver..of course your DVD source input should correspond with the jacks you used on the back...push "RECORD" button it should start for recording the coming signal into DVD
when you recording the output RCA jacks of DVD will generate the signal of whatever records that can be monitored with another TV set after properly connected..
Take care and please

I need help programming vcr to tape show

Since the V9800 has no built-in tuner, your TV set must be set to the channel your show to be taped is on. There is no way to tune it to any particular channel. Now, isn't that convenient?

I cannot get my DVR4300 to go in to TV channel change mode while recording a program

Why not simply record a channel tuned into the vcr and use your tv remote to watch a channel tuned into your tv? that is how it is normaly done... don't forget a vcr/pvr/dvd recorder has it's own channels just like a tv does... just no screen of it's own the tv has of course it's own channels and in fact does not even need to be switched on in order for your recorder to record a program neither does the recorder need to be on to use your tv

Cable box, digital service, channels not appearing

connect the RF lead from the wall to your cable box then out from that to your dvd then out from your dvd to your tv. now connect a scart lead from the cable box to AV 2 on the DVD then connect AV 1 on the DVD to your TV if you have a second scart on your tv connect that to the cable box. NOW on the DVD select AV2 now whatever is on the cable box will be recorded onto DVD/VCR. Put the DVD recorder into VCR mode and set it to auto tune all the Digital Video Broadcasts. You cannot physically tune the cable boxes own channels into the DVD via RF it has to be via a scart.
