Status error code 10008 - Compaq Presario Notebook

Make sure there is nothing attached to the laptop,remove all devices like keyboard,mouse, flash drives and retry. If still having same error flip the laptop over and remove the battery and open up the 2 other compartments that have a screw holding them. One holds the memory modules and the other the hard drive, check and re seat all connections, then try again. If you still have the same error your hard drive is most likely failing,

Usually that error [code 10008] appears when the hard drive has a SERIOUS PROBLEM!...
If your laptop [by the way... it's LAPTOP and not "LAPTOB"...] is under the warranty conditions get your hard drive replaced. If not - then buy a new hard drive for your machine.
A good and reliable hard drive is under $100 these days.

Go on Google [or any other search engine ] and check for a HARD DRIVE DIAGNOSTIC UTILITY; I've found for you a few HERE.
Download it, install it and run a test. It might be not only the HDD with problems; it could be some other components of the motherboard that might generate a hard drive failure...

According to Compaq tech support. That error code of 10008 indicates the hard drive has failed and should be replaced. I would recommend contacting HP/Compaq and finding out your warranty status. If it is still covered under warranty, they can replace the drive with a new one. You will need to contact them to find that out.

It means your hard drive has failed to boot, try reinstalling your operating system. If all else fails send it to the company.

That error indicate a bad hard drive.. so most probably no... Check the link below...

Only Hp knows what that means in their diags. Get it shipped back and take it to a Locally owned PC shop and have them take a look at it. It is possible that you have just enough file fragmentation and file structure corruption that it is fail diags. Why did you take it in to be looked at anyways?

It means that Hard Disk 1, which is either the first or second harddisk in the laptop, has failed. First open the BIOS on your latop. Before windows startup there should be a Compaq logo on screen. There also is some text saying which key to press to access BIOS. In BIOS, try opening some menus and look for a menu that shows your disk drive. In the same menu should be your harddisk. If it is there, go to A. If not, go to B. A: The disk is not broken, it just made a write error that destroyed WIndows. Insert the disk with your operating system on it into the laptop, and reinstall it. Your data is gone, but the laptop will work. If reinstalling the OS gives errors, and is unable to complete, go to B. B: Your harddisk is broken. There is no way to fix it, and you will need a new one. Contact Compaq if your warranty is still valid, and if not, take it to the nearest computer shop and ask for a new harddisk. If you have any more questions or trouble just post back here. As the error message states you need to replace the hard drive as the hard drive is most likely dead ie not working / broken.
