It's most likely a connection for a cd changer unit. you may be able to get an aftermarket cable to run an ipod... cool stuff.

For an antenna adapter... the local stereo stores carry those as well as the wiring harness adapters...

Aiwa CDC-X517M Car CD Receiver . . .

The part you are looking for is called the "wiring harness" or sometimes called the "dc cord"

The best way to buy this (and you do need it to use the radio) is to find a local repair center that repairs aiwa car stereos. Ask them if they can order the wiring harness for an Aiwa CDC-X517M. I don't know what Aiwa charges for them, but it should not cost more than about $30 or $40. Some are cheaper and some are a little more.

I did a search for it on google and could not find anything. Very unusual.

The four spots you refer to are the RCA jacks to connect to an external amplifier. 2 are red and 2 are white.

That thing that plugs in above the 15 amp fuse is for your wiring harness.

The circular thing is a din cable jack and that is used for an external CD changer.

Once you get the wiring harness you should take it and the radio to a place that does car stereo installations and they can do the rest for you.

I hope this helps you out, and if it does I would really appreciate a good rating. Most people we help here never rate your help :( and we do most of this for free hoping for a good rating as a thank you for the help :).

Hope you have a great day,
Dave

Wiring problems

Hi,

Most of current AIWA in-dash units are ISO/DIN compliant and therefore conform to the ISO Wire Color Code standard. If your model is ISO certified then it would be following the below illustrated wiring scheme.
4050e73.jpg
You can verify its adherence to the standards by checking that the "Earth" wire reads 0 ohms using a continuity tester as against the ground/body of the stereo unit. Incidentally most current car models also follow the same standard with the exception of later VW / Audi vehicles and therefore would be simply be plug in.

If you suspect any deviation, perhaps you are better off purchasing an original Aiwa two, eight way plugs for your CDC-MP32 CD Player.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things are or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

AIWA CDC-x227 CDPlayer

GO to WallMart, Kmart, Radio Shack, etc. and get a new connector adapter (plug)...they're reasonably priced, have them for all make/models of cars, and make installing a car stereo a breeze! When you get the one for your specific car, the wiring instructions are quite easy to follow! :-)

Aiwa CDC-MA01 can't change station

same thing, some of the buttons on the bottom flip panel work, the important ones do not. select is the most important one that does not function. I opened the unit up and checked all the connections, the ribbon cable seemed to be connecting, i can only conclude it is chip thing, as the switches under buttons rang the bell on my continuity tester. it is very easy to open up and put back to together.
