Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Check to make sure that you have the correct driver on your computer. If not, go to the Canon site and upload. That should solve your problem.

The IXUS 100 is called the SD780 in some parts of the world. You can download the SD780 manual and more from the manufacturer's web site at

Recently I bought the Canon Ixus 220 HS compact camera. With the camera I received some software among other things Zoombrowser ex. Regretfully this program doesn't work properly from the start. When...

Is your Camera detected when connected to the PC via the PTP in the Device Manager? Check your "Device Manager". In Windows 7, sometimes the camera is not detected, but you can try "Workaround when the camera cannot be detected by Windows 7(when connected via PTP)". If the device is not detect in the Device Manager the software will not work.

The update is only for the software ie Zoombrowser(Win7x64) -> update to version ZoomBrowser EX 6.7.2 Updater.

Hope it helps & good luck.

My Window 7 can not detect my PowerShot SD800 IS from USB. I can not using Canon software detect camera

Thanks for contacting FixYa Technical Support.

I am not sure if you have attempted to run Canon's most current driver update for the Canon PowerShot SD800 IS, but here is the link for that driver.

Canon PowerShot SD800 IS Drivers for Windows 7

This driver is for Windows 7, 32 bit and 64 bit systems.

What you may want to try first, is to disconnect your camera from your PC, install this driver update and then connect the PowerShot and see if it will detect it.

Driver updates are usually the first steps to take in troubleshooting device connection issues with PCs.

Hope this helps!
