Replaced the chip and now the tv won't turn on, green light blinks raptly then the lamp light starts to blinks red/orange for about 34+ the green light will then come back on and blink fast again and the back to the lamp light 34+. took out chip and put back old one to see if chip was bad. but the same thing... please help before i purchase another TV...
Somehow--the lamp is not firing. Before you go get another bulb--check ALL of your work, and make SURE no connectors to the ballast have been left off or pinched somehow. It is easy to do this. Also, make sure the lamp door switch is making proper contact with the tab on the lamp door. You have already fixed a real problem with this set--do NOT give up so easily now!! ALso--make sure all fans are running. If ANY do not run--it WILL shut down. ANd make sure the color wheel connector has not come loose or been damaged somehow (this will be between the engine and the lamp area--likely have a "hump " raised in the light tunnel betwen the lamp and the engine--this is where the CW is). Even IF the ballast died (NOT likely at all), you can find one on ebay for under 100---and this set IS WORTH the repair. You will NOT be satisfied with some crappy flat-panel as a replacement.

the status light blinking red means a fan (the unit hs 4 of them) has failed. you need to determine which one. use the self diagnostic function:
Error Code Operational Check
Note: The TV must be in “Shut Down” and not manually switched Off, to perform the Error Code Operational
Check. When the TV is switched Off, the code automatically resets to “12” No Error.
Press the front panel “DEVICE” and “MENU” buttons at the same time, and hold for 5 seconds to
activate the Error Code Operational Check. The LED will then flash denoting a two digit Code.
Note: The front panel buttons must be used, NOT those on the Remote Control.
• The number of flashes indicates the value of the MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code.
• The flashing then pauses for approximately 1/2 second.
• The LED then flashes indicating the value of the LSD (ones digit) of the Error Code.
Example: If the Error Code is “32”, the LED will flash three times, pause, and then flash two times.
• The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times.
and read the code.
35= Chassis Fan failure
36 =Exhaust (Back Cover) or Lamp Ballast Fan failure
37= Engine (DMD or Lamp) Fan failure

The lamp is either defective, not connected properly to the wiring or plugs (careful alignment required on the two connections), wrong type bulb, or the front panel is not replaced properly to trigger the panel sense switch (lower right side of panel)
SOURCE: Blinking Green light after Capacitor kit replacement WD-62725
I just repaired two Mit WD-62725 sets in the last two weeks.
The first one had bad caps on the power board and the FMT board. The scond one had bad caps on four out of the five boards.
Also, on the FMT board, there was a blown surface-mount fuse.
I advise checking all of the boards for bad caps. If you fine a bad 1000uf cap, replace all of the 1000uf's on the board.
Hop this helps,
Dan

Could be the FMT pcb or the Dm pcb board you should check the caps on them and replace any faulty ones.
