This could be caused by a bad HV block. I would not take on replacing unless you know your way around HV circuits on Projection TV's. I would call a repair facility to give you a estimate to repair.

I turn on the TV and seconds later it turns off on it's own.

Sounds stupid, but where is the remote control? I had a weird issue a few years ago where my TV would turn itself off constantly. Turned out the remote control 'off' button was wedged down.

Try covering the IR receiver with your hand and turning the TV on (make sure the IR window is well covered and no Infra-red could leak in!). If it is ok then something i transmitting an 'OFF' signal. If TV still turns off on its won then sounds like it could be quite ill, possibly dying.

Turns itself off

i believe that this set is built with fans to cool down the inside, check if the fans are running slow, because that could be your problem since you get both sound and picture. i think  that's what it is.

TV turns itself off after a few seconds, no picture at all

I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.

Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors.
Solutions?
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.

Hope this helps

TV turns itself off after a few seconds, no picture at all

As far as fixing goes, you might as well get a new TV... Unless its a LARGE EXPENSIVE HOLY $%^# TV, It will cost more to fix, than to just buy a new one, unless its under warranty, which being an older model as that (or so im reading) It may not be covered.

Try unplugging the TV, and while unplugged, hold down the power button for a full minute (yes, with the plug NOT in the wall) after a minute, plug it back in, and try. Its a hard reset. If it still does not work, and you've tried different outlets, It's probably a repair issue, and you'll need to get someone to fix it, or just junk it :-/

My T.V is turning itself off after 2 seconds where you can hear sound but there is no picture

Hello according to the symtom that you have describe I think that maybe you have activated the sleep function button on your tv and if this is not so maybe there is an internal problem on the main board of the tv.
