How can i fix my Fuji film F470 camera- i dropped it and now pictures have horizontal lines on image after picture is taken

The problem you are experiencing at the moment, is a typical result of a CCD which have blown. A CCD problem would explain the lines on your pictures and the lines on the LCD (since the CCD is used to feed the live image).

If seen on both your pc monitor as well as the camera's LCD then it's likely a CCD issue and it's no wonder that it will be more expensive than buying a new digicam. This is why you need to be exceptionally careful when taking care of your camera since most are uber sensitive to being damaged by the slightest miss-handling.

In order to correct this issue, the repair facility needs to replace the CCD. This is not something you may do on your own. Check this links that could give you additiona details:

Hope this helps (remember to rate and comment this answer)..

Fuji finepix s5000 digital camera

Your CCD sensor has failed. Common digital problem that uses Sony sourced CCD chips. Proffesional factory replacement of CCD is only fix or buy another physicaly damaged unit and swap CCD boards. Not hard but intricate and time consuming.

Fine pix fuji S5000

Motherboard is dead, and it costs much to take it to the repair shop. It doesn't pay off, for that amount of money you can buy a better camera. I'm trying to find a web shop and to check the price, so i could repair it myself, but had no luck finding it so far. Anyone?

Fuji s20 pro failed ccd, where can i get a replacement ccd from? how much would it cost regards steve Hi, I think I'm having the same issue as well. Just getting the snowstorm on the screen. Still takes...

I had the same problem - called Fuji in UK, they denied all responsibility. Had a rethink, checked on the web, and then called them back with the following -
Fuji USA and Canada both fix this problem under warranty
S2 pro and S700 both on their recall list for failed CCD's and the S20 pro uses the same CCD so why won't they fix it?
Lots of apologies and they fixed it for free!

Purple screen

It appears your camera has a bad image sensor (CCD). Based on the model, it should still be under warranty. This is a warranty issue, that Fuji should look after. There is nothing you can do, yourself, to fix it. Even out of warranty, Fuji fixes many of these, as they acknowledge that the sensors were improperly manufactured. Take your camera and proof-of-purchase paperwork to the place of purchase, or directly to Fuji's national supplier.

Fuji s20 pro failed ccd, where can i get a replacement ccd from? how much would it cost regards steve

A little research shows me that Fuji has undergone an extensive repair recall for several Fuji models because of failed CCDs. My S20 Pro just lost it's ccd as well. For some reason it looks like the S20 was not covered in the free repair offer by Fuji. Has anyone else had a CCD problem with their S20

My F410 ceased to take photos

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Fuji should fix this for you for free. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:
