Dishwasher has no water

Find out where your water supply is turned on to your dishwasher. Usually it is under the sink and make sure the valve is turned counter clockwise to supply water to the dishwasher. If this is on, on some models there is a float switch that will sometimes get stuck in the overflow position. Look in the bottom of the dishwasher tub and you will see a round float. Usually it is in the front left of the dishwasher. Move the float up and down and you should hear a clicking noise. Make sure float stays in the lowered position, closest to the dishwasher floor. Check those two and let me know what you find. And we can go from there.

Does the GE Nautilis have a water solenoid valve?

Yes and it is item number 744 of this link:

http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5218471&diagram_id=22281725#d22281725

And controlled by the float switch in the front left corner of the tub. If the float sticks there will not be any water supply.

Item 302 of the first link is the float dome and item 305 is the float. Don't be afraid to check to see that when the float is lifted up and down you hear a micro-switch click.

Dishwasher turns on but no water is going into the dishwasher it is a GE potscubber 970

Hi,

As there is no water entering the machine, check ;-

Water-inlet valve The water-inlet valve lets water enter the machine. If this valve is defective, you need to completely replace it. It's usually located behind the lower access panel on the left or right side. It's the device with the main water line (usually copper) from the house, a rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two wires attached to it.

Float switch The float switch is a small electrical switch that's located right below the dishwasher "floor." Above the switch, on the inside of the dishwasher, is a plastic cylinder that floats up as water fills the dishwasher. If this switch is defective, or if the plastic float gets caught or trapped in the raised position, the water can't enter the dishwasher. If the float switch is defective, you need to replace it.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

No Water

The first thing I would check is the water float. The float is located on the bottom left front of the dishwasher floor. You will see a float cover, remove the cover and make sure the float moves up and down with your fingers. It should move freely.
If the float appears good, you will have to remove the lower kick plate. Behind the plate you will see the float switch and the water fill solenoid valve. With a volt/ohm meter you can check the float switch and water fill solenoid for proper resistance.
If you feel you want to persue that, we can get more specific about resistive values.
Let me know.

Water not coming into dishwasher

Without knowing the model number of your GE dishwasher, but some dishwashers don't notice when the float / float switch is stuck. That could cause the dish washer to move through all the cycles but never have water flow into the dishwasher. That would be the first place I would look. But please post back here with what you find (plus the model number of your dishwasher) before ou rate me level of helpfulness, OK?

GE Profile dishwasher not drawing water from water line

If you look inside the dishwasher paying special atention to the left front corner. Remove the lower dishrack and then you will see a dome shaped piece of plastic attached by one screw. Remove this screw and check and see if the float is gunked up. Sometime you have to remove the lower access panel to remove a little pal nut off the bottom of the float assembly to actually remove it to clean. Clean it real good and reinstall. This should solve your problem.

please mark my answer as a fixya! thanks.
