SOURCE: Hi, In my dell optiplex 380

Most cases the harddrive is faulty if with code the PSA+ 2000-0151 code means Hard Drive (d): - Incorrect status: (x) (s) etc...Caution:Remove any and all power sources Including but not limited to: AC Adapter, Battery, or Desktop Power Cord, before you remove or reinstall an item in your computer." So Run the Drive Self Test (DST) from the Utility Partition also known as the 32 bit diagnostics to determine if the previous error has been corrected. If the DST from the Utility Partition does not indicate a failure of the drive, we consider the error to have been corrected and the drive does not need to be replaced.

My Dell optiplex gx 270 tower's chipset heats up and system shuts down and my friend's gx270 mother board is burnt due to same reasons

check the Cmos battery and computer RAM modules make sure they are securely seated with no dust built up or in the sockets on some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in

check you CPU make sure its securely seated and has thermal grease might be getting to hot

another possible reason could be a memory dump you might be running to many programs at the one time putting to much strain on the CPU central processing unit

hope this helps

Old Dell Optiplex GX100, hard drive trouble.

RAM could be bad, generally when its doing a dump, ram is bad. Although it could actually be the hard drive itself. Give both a test

Display problem

go to START, ALL PROGRAMS, ACCESSORIES, COMMAND PROMPT. In the black window that pops up, type CD... [enter] do it again CD... [enter] Now type in CHKDSK /F [enter] What this does is check your hard drive for errors and repairs them. the /F means repair the hard drive. Instructions say next time you boot up the machine will check its hard drive.
