I have an A345 camera and I just put new batteries in it. Every time I try to take a picture now, it shuts off. It has never done this before and Ive had it around a year and a half. I didnt even start having problems till I changed the batteries due to the old ones dying 2 min. before hand. What is wrong with my camera? Is there a quick way to fix it? I use this camera all the time. I am a picture fan.
My fujufilm camera turns on but when it comes to removing the lense it loses forcus and rolls back the lens, then displays ''turn off the camera and turn on again. What could be the problem and whats the solution to this?
I have the same camera (Fuji Finepix 345) and a problem that may have been similar. When I powered on the camera the lens would extend but as soon as I attempted to take a picture the camera lens would retract and the camera powered itself off.
The camera is now working. I followed the troubleshooting steps at this address:

Gently holding onto the lens to prevent it from retracting during power off was the solution that worked for me.
My camera's problem seemed to slowly get worse over time until it finally stopped taking pictures. At first my wife and I noticed that pictures were sometimes out of focus. It turned out that my wife takes pictures using the viewfinder where I use the LCD screen. She wouldn't notice that pictures were out of focus. If I saw that the LCD was out of focus I'd power cycle, press the zoom button to get the lens to move, and/or try tapping the camera while upside down and powering on. Eventually it got so bad that we couldn't get any pictures in focus and I ended up buying a different camera. Then last night I tried the trick about holding the lens and the camera is working again.
I suggest you first see if the camera will power on when switched into playback (picture review) mode. Move the slider to the playback position and turn on the camera. Can you review pictures? If not, then clean the battery contacts by rubbing them with a pencil eraser and replace the batteries. Try holding the power button down for several seconds, it seems like my camera is slow to power on sometimes.
If you can review pictures in playback mode you'll know the problem is not batteries, battery contacts, or the LCD display and circuitry. Is the lens stuck? To jar it free, try holding the camera upside down and tapping the edge against the palm of your other hand while holding the power button down. As mentioned earlier, this used to work for me.
Good luck
Have you fully charged the new batteries

I think I'm having either the same, or a similar problem. Battery life has always been a bummer on my FinePix 345, usually not getting more that 3 hours of continuous use. But all of a sudden, I put new batteries in and TWO MINUTES later I'm getting the red light that says the batteries are almost dead. Another minute after that It's shutting down due to supposed dead batteries. I tried several different sets of batteries thinking maybe they were just bad. But this problem has persisted for months now, no matter how many new batteries I put in.
Same problem... I put in New batteries (alkaline) but within 30 seconds I get the low battery warning then in anothter 10 seconds the camera shuts off.
I have a FujiA345 and have the same problem. Wonder if this problem will be solved by reinstalling the the camera software. New batteries don't help.
