SOURCE: Jenn-Aire locked tight!

Try turning the oven tempurature all the way to the right (past clean). That is what unlocks mine.

SOURCE: jenn air s136 stove won,t self clean

You've probably already read pages 34 through 37 of the owners manual for this oven. We had this stove in the house we bought and the owner wrote in his own directions, which seem to work fine:

1. Turn knob selector to clean.
2. Turn temp knob to clean.
3. Close and lock door.
4. Push enter button and turn dial clockwise to desired time.
5. Push enter button again.

You've probably already tried this, but just in case I figured I'd pass it along.

SOURCE: Oven won't lock and self clean.

Shut off the oven for at least a minute and turn it on, set the clock, and it worked. I had tried a short power cycle before and it didn't fix it. The extended power cycle did the trick.

Have a wall mounted Jenn-air oven. Have used self-cleaning feature before. Followed step by step instructions to the end including locking the door and pushing "Enter". Went to bead expecting to wake

This is a general answer and not specific. The oven thinks is still in the cleaning mode. If it has one, push the clean button again. Set the oven to a regular bake cycle.

My oven will not unlock.

Either unplug or turn the off off at the breaker. It may clear the problem. This happens a lot after clean cycles. Sometimes the electronics fry due to high heat, so try not to use self clean very often.

If this doesn't work, leave comments with your oven model and type of lock if you know. The instructions for opening a stuck lock depend on which type of lock you have: solenoid controlled buzz when setting or unlocking and have an arm you move to engage the lock. Heat sensitive locks have an lever you move to lock and un-lock, but don't make noises. Motorized locks don't have handles or levers, and lock by themselves. Thanks for your question, I hope the first instruction helps.

It will remain locked until the temperature is safely as low as it should be. You just have to wait and be patient.

I ran the cleaning cycle on my Jenn-Air oven today, and the locking lever is stuck in the lock position and won't open. The oven is completely cool and the lock light is off. Any suggestions?

did you let the cycle complete and cool down or did you force it open the oven is still locked and you will have to force the lock and adjust the lock for it to open normal in the future

Jenn Aire lock for self clean in locked position

The LOCK INDICATOR light must be OFF. This can take up to one hour!!!

Do NOT force the door.

Leave the SELECTION and TEMPERATURE knob alone. The Temperature knob MUST be set to CLEAN

Indicator Light OFF, knobs set to CLEAN - OPEN the slide lever.

Lever open, set the knobs to OFF and away you go

Jenn air oven stuck closed after attempt to activate self-cleaning

The lock motor may have failed. Most often, bending a coat hanger into a hook and sliding from the right side as you move the door to the right, will allow you to release the lock and open the door.
