Right clicking on my computer/ Properties/ hardware/device manager. Do you have a redX or a yellow exclamation point on the sound card? If it's a redX then you may just be able to Click the enable button to turn it on. If it says it's working properly then you may have to uninstall the software and or drivers for the card and reload them.
For Edirol, go to http://www.edirol.net/downloads/en/index.htm For Mecer, go to www.driverguide,com. Search for Mecer and sound cards. There are many drivers, so you'll have to do some sleuthing to get the correct one. Look at the big chip on the card and take down the number. That may help you locate the proper software.
