SOURCE: cooling light

The cooling light should be blinking. Mine did the same thing. It ended up being the fuse that was going to the dryer from the circuit breaker itself. I ended up replacing the whole heating element thinking that was the problem. Turned out to be a $17 fuse and problem solved. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: lg tromm dryer electric cooling light staying on

I called LG after seeing this light as well and they say it's supposed to stay on and should "blink" at the end of the cycle. I've never remembered this light staying on in all the years of owning this machine but she (LG rep) said it was normal. Otherwise, if you've checked everything and it's not drying clothes, you may need to have your dryer serviced. :(

The cool light on the lg is on all the time. It is only actually cooling when it is flashing. You might have a blown thermostat. Call a tech and have him/her check it out.

I have a 2 year old LG DLE5001w dryer. It stoped heating heater element replaced on 11/21/14. Worked 2 loads stopped heating, replaced switch, worked 3 loads stopped heating replaced thermostats. Did

Most Dryers has a thermal switch that when the air flow gets so hot it will shut down the dryer until it cools down or on some models the thermal switch has to be replaced .. The most common problem to cause this is a restricted air flow somewhere in the exhaust of the heated air causing the dryer to reach too high of temp, which could cause a fire .. Hope this information is help full......

I very recently-9/28/13- purchased an LG clothes dryer-model #DLE487OW. A breaker was kicked and since the electrity was restored, I am getting a check filter message with cool air only blowing in dryer. ...

Call LG people before you call the service man.
Really, you have no heat. Check out the heating circuit...heater, t/stats; vent. etc. Something is sensing that the filter is blocked when it is not....check air flow.
I doubt the board is a problem at this point.

Brand new dryer keeps shutting off. not tripping my breakers I don';t understand

There is a thermal cutoff switch in all hairdryers. If you by accident block the air intake or the filter is dirty, then the heat from the nichrome wire is not sufficiently cooled to keep the thermal switch from tripping. After the dryer cools down then the thermal switch resets and allows operation. Be sure the air flow into the dryer is not obstructed

Dryer check filter light keeps blinking and dryer will not start cleaned lint filter and nothing happened display on control board blinks when dryer is turned on and that's about it can you assist dyer...

I had the same problem, Check Filter light blinking and beeping, could not select drying type or start dryer. Short story, turned out to be the Less time button was stuck pushed in. Long story, a week before I had replaced the drum rollers and belt, everything was working fine for the week after then this problem. Totally by accident, after trying all the recommended actions (unplugging, pushing buttons, etc.) leaning on the right front corner would stop the beeping and allow the machine to work. Pushing all the buttons, I found the Less time button would not click. Apparently, when I took the control panel off to change the rollers and belt I flexed the control panel enough to misaligne the button and switch. Pulling the back of the control panel loose and making sure the push button and switch were aligned and working correctly everything works fine now.

Won't start, stays in the sensing mode when i push start button.

I had the same problem & just had a repair man out. A Thermal Fuse was blown - this occurs if you run your dryer a lot & don't let the cycle complete so the dryer cools down. If you stop the dryer mid cycle it's important to leave the door open so it can cool down or run a timed dry cycle on Air Only so the dryer can cool off.
My repair took less than 30 minutes & you can get the Thermal Fuse (item #2986) on www.repairclinic.com - part is $13.05 + shipping. Shipping varies depending on how soon you want the part.
Thermal fuse. If the dryer overheats, this device stops the flow of electricity to the heat source and/or the entire dryer. It is located on the blower housing and cannot be reset. The most common cause for overheating is a vent tube clogged with lint, a birds nest or other debris.
To test it, use an Ohm meter or continuity checker, if no continuity it must be replaced. Unfortunately, you can't tell if it's bad by looking at it.

Dryer stops after a few minutes Siemens WTXL2101 EU/07

Maybe a sensor at the back sensed overheating. You might be able to remove the backplate and search for a little button, which acts as some sort of reset button. (I do have a different tumble dryer, but it's the same brand and had similar problems). Maybe more ventilation is needed to prevent this from happening again.

Cooling light on?

The cooling light is always on, it flashes when it is in that part of the cycle, sounds like he put it in to a test mode. Was it a thermistor that he changed?
No heat, sounds to me like a thermostat might be blown. Call the guy back, if you haven't already.
