SOURCE: in convection mode my kenstar microwave gives out
It's not unusual for there to be some smoke and smell the first few times you use it.
Try it a few times and see if it lessens each time.
If so, then you're probably okay. If not, then it needs to be checked.
This should all be covered in your service manual.
If for some reason you don't have yours, you may be able to
download the installation instructions from the Sears
parts site.
Just enter your full model number there.
A full Sears/Kenmore
model number has 3 digits, a dot, then 8 more digits, such as
###.########
On the resulting page, look to the right for the blue "View manuals"
button. Click there.
That Sears-related site has many free manuals. While the manuals they
list there are all free, they may ask you to register.
