Question about Seiko Melodies in Motion Clock

Open Question

Model QXM109ZRH, from Sam s club, 2000 or 2001 stopped working. battery compartment connections rusted out and some wires broke. Can this clock be repaired?

I loved my seiko melodies in motion wall clock when it was working. I bought it from Sam s club in 2000 or 2002. model number QXM109ZRH. It stopped working a couple years ago. battery compartments have very rusted connectors and some of the internal wiring has broken off from those compartments. Can this clock be repaired?

SOURCE: Seiko Westminster Chime Clock; Model No. QF0020 (or QF002G)

There is a small potentiometer that the volume know is on, probably replacing the pot will fix the problem. Radio Shack has these.

To test your Seiko Melodies in Motion Clock:

1) Check the volume knob in the back of the Seiko clock to make sure the volume has not been adjusted all the way down.
2) Make sure the on / off switch is set to on.
3) If it is extremely dark in the room, the clock will not play, it has a light sensor. Make sure the room is well lit.
4) There are separate batteries usually that operate the clock and the music. Change the batteries paying special attention to any acid / corrosion caused by old batteries. Clean out any acid and it should play. Also, be careful not to touch the positive or negative contacts on the new batteries, as this could inhibit proper connection.

If you have done each step above and it is still not operating, your clock is defective. Contact Seiko Service Center directly at: 800-722-4452 extension 3.

If you have had the clock less than a year, and it was purchased from an authorized dealer, it is under warranty, and any repairs will be free. Otherwise, there may be a charge for the repair.

SOURCE: I have a seiko musical wall clock that no longer

One plays for the test mode and one battery is for the hourly. Check your batteries! Also make certain that you didn't accidentally turn the sound to off setting.

Possibly 4 D Batteries according to this Amazon sale item.

Another possibility is if dead batteries are still in the clock to remove them. and identify them.

My mother-in-law has a Melodies in Motion Clockpost Willie clock that she no longer has the instructions for. She can't figure out how to make him whistle. Can you point me to an ownder's manual?

Hello, Sherry -

I have not been able to find instructions online for the Seiko Melodies in Motion Clockpost Willie (a clown figure standing along side a clock on a post.)

The Melodies in Motion clocks are manufactured by Seiko Clocks. This is the link to the Seiko Clocks home page:
https://www.seikoclocks.com/

Near the bottom left of the home page, you will see the link to Customer Care. Click or tap on that link.

On the Customer Care page you will see the toll free phone number and the email address to use to ask if the instructions for the clock are available and how your mother can obtain them.

Best wishes.

Seiko wall clockNeed battery cover and repairs Model #QXM139SRH

I sent my clock off to Seiko for repair, useless, they said it was in the circuitry. I had them send my clock back. I ordered a new gear box $2.00, replaced that, it will work as long as it's flat. If you look you can see how the clock cycles I made sure it was "locked" in (you can hand force it) then I removed one of the gears so it doesn't cycle down but stays in the up position at all times. Music plays, lights go, just no motion now. Call Seiko for replacement battery cover.

Seiko wall clock pendulum not working

When was the last time it was serviced? The movement probably needs a good cleaning and/or oiling.
