SOURCE: Ice maker not getting water after changing filter

Check the following:
Is the freezer door closed completely?
Is the ice storage bin installed correctly?
Is there ice in the storage bin?
Has the ice frozen in the storage bin?
Is ice stuck in the delivery chute?
Has the wrong ice been added to the storage bin? Use only
cubes produced by the current ice maker.
Has the ice melted around the auger (metal spiral) in the
ice bucket?
Dump the ice cubes and clean the ice storage
bin.
Is the ice dispenser stalling while dispensing “crushed”
ice?
Change the ice button from “crushed” to “cubed.” If
cubed ice dispenses correctly, depress the button for
“crushed” ice and begin dispensing again.
Has the dispenser arm been held in too long? Ice will stop
dispensing when the arm is held in too long. Wait 3 minutes
for dispenser motor to reset before using again.

The ON/OFF switch is located on the top right side of the freezer
compartment.
To turn the ice maker on, slide the control to the ON (left) position.
To manually turn the ice maker off, slide the control to the OFF
(right) position.
NOTE: Your ice maker has an automatic shutoff. The ice maker
sensors will automatically stop ice production, but the control will
remain in the ON (left) position

REMEMBER:
Allow 24 hours to produce the first batch of ice. Discard the
first three batches of ice produced.
The quality of your ice will be only as good as the quality of the
water supplied to your ice maker. Avoid connecting the ice
maker to a softened water supply. Water softener chemicals
(such as salt) can damage parts of the ice maker and lead to
poor quality ice. If a softened water supply cannot be avoided,
make sure the water softener is operating properly and is well
maintained

The Dispenser Lock (on some models)
Your dispenser can be turned off for easy cleaning or to prevent
unintentional dispensing by small children and pets.
NOTE: The lock feature does not shut off power to the product, to
the ice maker, or to the dispenser light. It simply deactivates the
dispenser levers. The ice and water dispensers will not work.
Style 1: Press the LOCK BUTTON to lock the dispenser. Press the
UNLOCK button to unlock the dispenser.
Style 2: Press and hold the LOCK OUT button to lock the
dispenser. Press and hold the LOCK OUT button a second time to
unlock the dispenser.

SOURCE: Ice maker not making ice

Make sure that the filter is the right one and that it is pushed in all the way. The most likely cause is the water solenoid behind the fridge. Take an ohm meter and test across the two terminals and it should NOT ohm out (beep). If it does not ohm out I would replace the P.C. Board kit, emitter & receiver icemaker control.

SOURCE: water will not come into the ice maker

Replace the water inlet valve after making sure the tube which fills the icemaker is not frozen . If it is , replace the valve anyway . The valve is the piece which connects to the line to the wall on fridge .

SOURCE: ice maker will not make ice

If you have water sitting in the trays and no action is happening, then i suggest replacing the ice maker complete as these spares are pricey and take a while to get to you , (In the hope that they are correct). On some units there is a small test button. If you have one, push or switch it to activate icemaker. Often this resetting brings the ice maker back on line.

Ice maker doesn't work after changing filter

The filter and the ice maker should not have anything to do with each other unless you raised the wire shut off on the ice maker and did not put it back down after changing the filter.

Do i need to change the filter in order to get the ice maker to work? the water still come out but not into the ice maker. please help!

no you donot need to change the filter first. all of the water goes through the filter first. you either have a bad water valve for the ice maker. a bad ice maker. or bad optics that sense the ice bin on the door is full. can you move the ejector blades on the ice maker? that will tell you if the ice maker gear is broken.

Whirlpool ED25RF Does ice maker have a filter? My ice taste funny and sometimes its dirty

The ice maker doesn't have a filter , the problem could be the ice maker itself that the tray ,which is made out of aluminum is losing particles.Look at the conditions of the ice maker tray ,if you see like white spots replace the ice maker.

Ice maker has ice in lower back part of ice maker, rotation stopd

you say ice in back of ice maker??? only the rear 2-3 cubes are filled??? adn the front 5 or so are empty??? then yes its possible low water pressure from a faulty filter can be an issue, shoudl be replaced at least every year. so you cant go wrong by changing it , at least rule it out!
