SOURCE: saying paper jam dcp-135c brother printer

Hello there,If the paper is lodged too far into the printer and can't be removed: Press the power button to turn the printer off.
Pull firmly on the paper to remove it. If you can't reach the paper because it is too far in, raise the front cover and remove the paper from the front of the printer.
Close the front cover.
Press the power button to turn the printer back on.
Resend your document to print.

Ensure that:
The paper is a recommended paper for Laser printers.
You do not force the paper down into the printer when you load it. For example, if you are loading letter or A4 size paper, the top edge of the paper should extend above the top of the sheet feeder.
The printer is on a flat, level surface.
The left paper guide is against the side of the paper.
You do not load too much paper in the sheet feeder. Depending on the thickness of your paper, the sheet feeder can hold up to 100 sheets of paper.
The left paper guide does not cause the paper to bend in the sheet feeder.
Your printer feeds regular paper as expected. If regular paper feeds without causing problems, load the envelopes vertically against the right side of the sheet feeder. Make sure the paper guide is against the side of the envelopes.
Envelopes or the appropriate specialty papers are selected in the printer driver.
You are using a paper or envelope size supported by your printer.

SOURCE: not printing glossy A4 paper / paper jam / no paper feed

dont use thick photo paper like 230 gsm up, instead use 180 gsm papers. but if you dont want to waste the purchased thick photo papers, you can open the back and manually insert the paper once the printing process started. i tried this as a trial & error basis until i had perfected it.... hope it works with yours.

The proper reset code sequence to reset DCP printers without numeric keypad should be as follows:
1. press buttons Set, Menu, Mono Start one by one, followed by up arrow key four times. this should all be done as short a time as possible, around 3 seconds.
2. enter maintenance mode 80 by pressing the up/down arrow key and set key to select numbers 8 and 0
3. press up arrow key several times to get to the Purge item
4. enter 2, 7, 8 and 3 using arrow/set keys to reset the counter
5. press Stop/Exit key to go to root of maintenance mode
6. enter 9,9 to exit maintenance mode
(for printers with numeric keypad):
Resetting purge counter on: MFC-620CN / MFC-420CN / MFC-410CN / MFC-210C and FAX-2440C:
1. Enter machine maintenance mode (on MFC-210C all four photo/copy/fax/scan lights flash in maintenance mode). Care is needed in maintenance mode, otherwise critical settings may be inadvertently corrupted.
FAX models with numerical keypads: Press the Menu/Set, *, 2, 8, 6 and 4 keys within two seconds. (if you fail to complete the correct key sequence within two seconds, press the Stop key to try again).
Other (non-FAX) models: Press the Menu/Set and Black Start keys. Next press the “up arrow” key four times to enter the maintenance mode.
2. Press the 8 then 0 keys in the initial stage of the maintenance mode to call up the machine's log information list (function code 80).
3. Press the Black Start key several times to scroll through the log information list to reach the purge counter. The purge counter is the 25th item in the list.
4. Press the 2, 7, 8, and 3 keys in this order to reset the purge count to zero.
5. Press the Stop/Exit key to return to the initial stage of the maintenance mode.
6. Press the 9 key twice to return to the standby state.

I have a Brother DCP 195c and it wouldn't take in other photo papers! I tried to print using the free brother photo paper and it's fine but when I use other inkjet glossy photo, it wouldn't take in the...

Your glossy paper is too smooth for the rubber rollers to grab it.
You need to wet the rubber rollers. Ever licked your finger in order to turn a page in a book? Same concept solution here.

Remove the paper tray. Take a look inside the space created where the tray was, and locate the rubber rollers. Lick your fingers, and use them to moisten the rubber rollers.

Reset printer and print again. Or try "un-smooth" the paper where the rollers grab it.

MACHINE STOPS, SAYING IT A PAPER JAM.

I would try taking some cleaner such as fantastic or formula 409, remove the paper trays and clean the feed rolls then open covers and clean any rollers in the paper path.
You can also use rubbing alcohol, but a soapy cleaner tends to do better.

Paper jam/no paper fed

make sure the photo paper is in glossy side face down,
set the paper type to photo.

If it keeps jamming it's because the paper feed is probably dirty and not taking the paper properly

Error: "paper jam", in brother dcp 8040, but not paper jam helpppppp?'

Hey try this

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

Brother Model DCP-340CW - Unable to clean

When trying to use your Brother machine you get the message "Unable to _____". The blank may be the word Change, Print, Scan or Clean and these words may vary from model to model.

Paper fed error

check the paper jam clear cover at the back site of printer:

When taking it out you can see the wave formed clear plastic which is on top of the cover.
try to stroke with your finger alongside. this can be the reason for the paper jamming.
