Please, I'm desperate to turn off the extremely obnoxious door alarm that comes with this Samsung fridge model. Would really appreciate some help with this. Both Samsung and Lowe's have pretty much told me I'm on my own and they can't/won't do anything. I've been told by one tech that it's impossible to disable this alarm and I can't accept that as an answer, there must be a way. I'm stuck with the fridge and can't return it to the store so I have to find a way to disable the alarm. Please do not tell me to make sure I have my fridge doors shut, this is not a problem with the alarm malfunctioning, I simply do not want the alarm to go off at all. It's extremely irritating.
I see this question was posted awhile ago but I have the answer!
I had to get a new fridge and the alarm drove me bonkers anytime I needed to clean it or do prep work. I came to the internet in search for an answer just to find out that it's impossible to completely disable it. No one had seemed to have a solution so I studied my fridge. It had to have a speaker somewhere for the alarm to produce that ever so annoying beep! I let the alarm sound again and followed it with my ear.
Remove the cover off of the door hinge with a Phillips screwdriver. Once the cover is off you will see a round disc attached to a circuit board. Unplug it...it's the speaker! Replace the door hinge cover and that's it!!!
The fridge light will still flash to let you know the fridge is open but the beeping will be no more!!!
The alarm is operated by a magnetic switch connected to the control board. If you can find it you can bridge it out if it's a make switch, or disconnect it from the board if it's a break switch. Find the control board and the connection first. ***WARNING*** the switch also operates the internal fans and removal of the feature will increase your power bill and make the fans run permanently. Does the alarm come on as soon as the door is opened?
Testimonial: "After opening the fridge door it takes about a minute or two for the alarm to go off, after the first time it continually goes off every minute until the door is shut. I assume the alarm is working as intended. I just can't stand it, I like to leave my fridge door open while I do food prep and it's very annoying. I wasn't aware it had an alarm when I bought the fridge, I didn't even know fridge door alarms existed before buying this fridge. Thanks for the help though, I'm no tech myself but if I can find a tech that's willing to try to disable the alarm for me I will suggest to them what you said here."
SOURCE: loud noise from the freezer side
The problem is a buildup of ice on the plastic housing (the curved plastic bit) in the back of the freezer under the fixed shelf where the icetub goes. The fan behind this plastic housing is hitting the ice when the defrost comes on.
Unplug the fridge, unpack the freezer, remove the four screws in the back, take off the sheetmetal backing and let the fridge thaw. You can remove the plastic piece after a while and get the ice off (be careful not to remove the styrofoam insulation by going too quickly).
Reassemble and you're back in business, for a few months. I'm never buying Samsung again myself.

That sounds like you may have something in your condenser fan motor.. piece of bag, paper and may have stopped your fan altogther.. that would be the first place to check.. right by your compressor in the back of frig.

There is another sensor in the door that senses how far open the door is. look for this and see if its disconnected or broke

Is the beeping a door or temp alarm? You can press power cool and power freeze buttons at the same time and you should get a single LED indication and then after 30 seconds the
display should return to normal. NOTE the position of that single LED should you see it.
1) Self-Diagnostics in the initial Power ON
1-1)The control board performs a self diagnostics test within 1 second and check out the temperature sensors abilities.
1-2) If a sensor failure occurs, a corresponding LED segment will blink with a beep.
1-3) When a LED segment blinks, only the cancellation function (Press Power Freeze and Power Cool buttons
simultaneously for 8 seconds) is acceptable.
1-4) After a replacement of bad sensor or a cancellation of this function, this self diagnostics will end.
2) Self-Diagnostics in the normal operation
2-1) To select this function, press Power Freeze and Power Cool buttons simultaneously for 8 seconds with an audible tone.
2-2) In the self diagnostic mode, only corresponding LED segments will be illuminated (see the check list on the next page) <NOT in this post Interpreting LED position = these errors below. You will need to pass on / reply with exact position of the LED that you see
1 ICE MAKER SENSOR
2 REFRIGERATOR SENSOR
3 REFRIGERATOR DEFROST SENSOR
4 REFRIGERATOR FAN ERROR
5 ICE MAKER function error
6 CoolSelect ZoneTM SENSOR
7 REFRIGERATOR DEFROST ERROR
8 EXIT-SENSOR
9 FREEZER SENSOR
10 FREEZER DEFROST ERROR
11 FREEZER FAN ERROR
12 CONDENSER FAN ERROR
13 FREEZER DEFROST ERROR
2-3) After a 30 second illumination of error signal, the system will return to the normal operation.
I suspect a thermistor problem.
The unit will self diagnose if you unplug it for 15 to 20 minutes and then plug it back in. ANY errors will be displayed by a single LED (digit) indication during the first 14 seconds after you plug in the unit.
You must wait that 15 - 20 minutes of unplugged time to prevent the compressor overload from tripping due to high coolant pressures. System must stabilize first to prevent damage to your unit.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
