Meridian Norstar M7310 -- Phone's buttons seem disabled.

My office phone is a Meridian M7310. The only buttons that now work are when I press shift and ANY other button, it dials to the same extension. Other than that, the buttons on the phone don't work, but i still have a dial tone and can still receive calls.

The phone was working perfectly fine until I started programming some internal extensions on the speed dial buttons. I think I may have disabled the buttons or locked the buttons. What can I do to unlock or enable the buttons again? Alternatively, is there a way to reset the phone?

Sounds like a stuck button!

Look for the button that is depressed... or the button that has that person that the set is always calling and remove that button with a key/ small knife/ screwdriver or something.

When you take this button off the set, I bet that your set will start working again.

Clean that button, maybe there is something spilled on it.

Good Luck.

Unplugging and replugging is the first step. Is your shift button stuck?

Meridian norstar want to delete and enter new numbers

If you are asking about Outside Auto Dial numbers (a "speed dial" number programmed to a button), follow these steps:
1. Leave the handset down
2. Dial "Feature (star) 1"
3. Press the button to be programmed
4. Enter the "speed dial" number
5. Press button under "OK" on the horizontal display.

The group of 12 buttons on top of an M7310 phone are Dual-Memory buttons, each can hold 2 speed dial numbers. When you press the button, you are using the Lower Memory location. When you press the Shift button (triangle-shaped button on the right) and the a Dual-Memory button, you are using the Upper Memory location. Good Luck!

Phone not operational

There is a triangular button on the phone, there might be a light on it. That is the "shift" button for the "Speed dial buttons". They have 2 "positions on each, normal and "Shifted"

Search the web for a manual on how to use your phone.

If you are getting calls, then the lines are programmed in the system. There is no way to disable the transfer or hold buttons.
