If your Canon IR2520 is jamming in the exit tray after initializing the machine, it could be caused by a few different issues:
Paper tray: Make sure that the paper tray is loaded correctly and that the paper is not jammed or loaded incorrectly. Also, check if the paper tray is not overfilled or if the paper is not wrinkled.
Pick-up roller: The pick-up roller is responsible for picking up paper from the tray and feed it to the printer. Check if it is dirty or worn out.
Exit guide: The exit guide is responsible for directing the paper out of the machine. Make sure that it is not blocked or bent, which could cause the paper to jam.
Fuser: The fuser unit could be malfunctioning. The fuser is responsible for heating and fusing the toner to the paper. If it is not working properly, it could cause paper jams.
Feed rollers: The feed rollers are responsible for feeding the paper through the printer. Check if they are dirty or worn out.
Paper jam sensor: The paper jam sensor may be malfunctioning. If the sensor is not working correctly, it may not detect a jam and the printer will continue to try to feed paper through.
It is recommended to check the copier's manual or consult with the manufacturer's technical support to troubleshoot the problem. They may provide more specific instructions for your specific model and can guide you through the process of finding and fixing the problem.
These are general suggestions and your specific case may require different actions.

Check under the paper tray, paper lift has to be act with the help of "knoch"( a small plastic part along with the spring to lock the paper lift) while loading the tray. If its broken or nor functioning properly paper wont lift to pickup, result error shows reload the paper tay, if "knoch" is good chek under the tray there is a metal frame drives the "knoch" If its not connecting properly make the frame slight bend to ward to up side at the centre pont. load the tray and observe whether paper lift acting or not. .
Best of luck..

Problem may be the paper tray. You don't say what kind of printer you have and my psychic abilities are nil. The paper tray has sensors that tell the printer what size paper is in the tray. Make sure that the tray guides are set correctly. By the way all paper trays are "in" trays. Print out a config sheet to see what size paper the printer is set up for for each tray.

Paper Output Tray is closed / Paper jam
Summary
If the Paper Output Tray is closed, open it. The machine resumes printing.
If opening the Paper Output Tray does not resolve the problem, or if the tray was open to begin with, the paper may be jammed. Remove the jammed paper, reload paper properly in the printer, then press the Black or Color button.

check the Tray. there are markings on the tray that tell the printer what paper is loaded, if the tray isn't in the percise location of type of paper, you'll get that error message. If that isn't it, then check the sides of the tray and see if there is any damage. sometimes the tabs on the trays that tell the printer what paper is in it, get broken. If that isn't it, then look inside the printer where the Tray goes in, and look for damage, or bent metal feelers that rub against the tray,
Embarrisingly simple fix. The printer was pushed up close to our wall thus not allowing to the paper feeder sit back normally. Therefore the photo tray was not sitting correcly. Once placed in the proper position, it all worked fine.
Thanks for the response though.
Kind Regards.
Ensure that you are putting the paper in the right position.
there has not been problem of pick of roller from that model.
Ensure that paper are well inserted into the printer.
You can clean the pickup roller. worn out roller might be responsible.
I had the same problem with a customer, to resolve this issue:
> Go to the printers folder > Right click on the printer > Go to printing preferences > Under the paper source settings change it from autoselect to Tray1 and save the settings.
This will force the printer to print to tray1.
That fixed it for me, hope it works for you too.
