Is it the Navigation unit in the trunk that has gone bad? Or has your display unit given up? You can find plenty of Navigation units and display screens on ebay.

If it's just the display you can purchase a replacement screen. Search 2000 acura tl navigation screen or Navigation Display on ebay. you'll find plenty of them there. The real fun is removing your old one, to replace with the new one you bought to fix the problem.

To remove and replace the screen, you need to remove everything below it first. Search youtube videos and you'll find some very detailed instructional videos on how to do it. It's not for the faint of heart, or the mechanically inept...

I've done it, and YES.... you need to removed all of that stuff, in that exact order, in order to be able to get to the two lower bolts that hold the screen in place. There is no short cut.

Helpfull hint... before you install your new replacement screen, be sure and write down the serial number of the unit, which is printed on the back side of the assembly. You just might need it some time in the future (like when you need it to retrieve a code from Acura USA, to make your radio and nav unit work after disconnecting the battery)

If your screen is ok, but your nav unit is broken, you can buy one of those on eBay as well... a lot easier to install... open the trunk, remove two cables, and four screws, and replace.

You'll have to remove the display and get the serial number off of it, call the dealer and get the code. Easier to register on Acuraowners.com and do it that way.

I have a 2007 Acura TL. The navigation system worked well, until 2017, when I decided not to renew it. Everything started to go wrong. It worked intermittently. Cost me job interviews, getting lost and being late. Did you receive a message, "See your dealership"? Well, the dealership was charging the same as the renewal price. A coincidence or an attempt to force the renewal? Well, I gave in. I just received the new navigation system (disc). It hasn't been installed as yet. Try reprogramming and find out how old the system is. A great car. The turning radius and the navigation system are my problems. Good luck.

If you have jumped or replaced the battery at anytime this will happen. You have to get the serial number off the radio by removing it or partially taking it out to see the numbers on it try not to remove any cords. With the stereo out (to make sure you get the right number off of it) call an Acura dealership with the number and they will give you the another number to enter into the stereo and directions on how to punch the numbers in. Make sure while you have the stereo out you write the serial number down and keep it in a safe place also the number that the Acura dealership gives you because if you sell the car or if it happens again its easily accessible. most new acuras have what you call an anti pinch sensors which means when there is an extra load on the power window motor, it is picked up by a controll module and makes the window go back down ie, you get your fingers cought between the window and the door frame. sometimes this happnes by its self because either the window is off track and not going up stright thus putting extra load on the motor. or, the window runner track its self (which is mostly rubber) is mislodged. causing the window not to fully rest in the full up position.

Try this, as silly as it sounds, drive your car slowly in a complete 360 degree circle three times around in a counter clockwise direction...it just might help your navigation system to find it's way again. Note: make sure the Nav. is on while you try the above.

True.  It is in the trunk under the plastic carpet.  You need to remove the bolts from the navi dvd and flip it over.  Write down the serial number and go back to the dealer.  Show registration of car and have car with you.  On 2005 and up cars with navi the tech can go to a secret tech screen and get the serial number.
