Only the left blade engages when trying to cut. The right blade doesn't seem to do anything. When the tractor is lifted up you can spin the right blade freely with engine off but the left blade doesn't move.

Hello janec37415:
>>From your Description it Sounds like the Seat Safety Switch is Bad, has a Bad Connection or the Stator/Charging Coils are Not Charging Enough for the PTO to be Engaged.
>>When the Blade is Engaged, the Seat Switch is Showing No One is on the Seat so the Engine is Shut Off by the Safety System or
>>When the PTO is Engaged and the Stator/Charging Coils are Not Charging Correctly, the Carburetor Solenoid Does Not get enough Voltage to Stay Open and the Engine Quits.
>>If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy.
>>Thanks.
Respectfully
John

A FEW THINGS TO LOOK AT ARE ,1THE PULLY SHIELDSMAKE SURE THEY AREN'T BENT TO CLOSE TO THE PULLEY'S.2 THE PULLEY BEARING'S MAY BE WORE OUT AND TO BREAK .3LOOK UNDER THE DECK TO MAKE SURE YOU DIDN'T GET SOMETHING TRAPED IN THE CUTTING DECK.HOPE THIS HELPED.
SOURCE: belt. came off... pulling up blade engagement
sounds like a bad PTO, that is the electrical gizmo on the bottom of the engine's driveshaft which engages the bottom pulley, running the deck. you might luck out and find the fuse is blown so follow the wire from the PTO back until you find the fat part in the wire. the fat part is an in line fuse holder with a fuse in it. if the fuse is bad and blows again, you need a new PTO

Check that the blade brake is disengaging. Slip belt off blade spindles and check that they spin freely. Check underside of deck for clogged grass, ropes, wire, etc.
