If I remember correctly, each button has a bizarre symbol next to it.
Draw the buttons on the paper and draw the symbol that appears beside each button.
With the TV on, press the first button and note what it does. Press it a second time to see if that progresses to something further or cancels the operation.
Repeat this for the other buttons.
I seem to remember a vertical green line appearing on Grundig sets which indicated that the tuning was activated. Look for buttons such as > or >> or < or << that suggest scanning for channels. Make sure you can pick up analogue TV signals in your area.
It also helps if you have a VCR or DVD recorder which is already tuned and you can tune the TV to that signal.
If this is happening on all the channels I think you will need a total reset. If so open menu and check the settings for child lock when you manually tune. An option is to reset the channels once again after the lock is opened. Choose a new channel scan to reset the memory. However if the lock seems to be only on specified channels you can open the settings of the channel and unlock on the menu.
Take out the battery an hour, put in back in,have the same problems. The remote is dead.Try website like Remotes.com to buy an exact remote.Yes,u can use the manual control buttons on right side of the tv,but a little hard.
If you are using the TV in UK, and you are using the internal digital tuner (aerial cable to TV), then the TV may be defective (faulty tuner or audio circuit). In that case call Grundig at the number listed on manual. If TV is using an external digi box (eg. freeview), then check connection from box to TV, test using a different connection cable. Test using a DVD, if TV works on DVD replace the digi box.
If you are trying to use the TV outside UK, and you are using the internal digital tuner, then there may be a problem with signal. In that case purchase a tuner box and connect it to the TV.
on most tvs you go to menu then setup then if you have cable go to where it says (air and cable) select cable or if you just have a anttania select air then go up to where it says autoprogram then push to get you channels in you should be abale to use the remote or the front panel on tv if this don't work give me the make and the tv name. hope this helps if not let me know thanks randall
I'm sorry, but I have not worked with Grundig TV's, radios yes, TV's no. However, The menu shouldn't be hidden. The first thing I would try would be to UNPLUG the set from the wall, wait about a minute and plug it in again. This action should reboot the micro processor. On some sets, there are two levels of menus, main and advanced. You would want "channel setup" and /or channel scan. You may also look in the back of the manual and see if it list some service dealers that you could call for help. I hope this helps. Electrode
