Need to tune television in but havent got original remote control and cant find any control panel on set itself
This may be too late, but i had the same problem, then discovered that if you press the top of the volume up/down buttons together, the menu comes up. I was trying to solve another problem this way when I accidentally locked the TV. The instruction booklet tells me that you can only unlock it with the remote control, but that has long ago bit the dust. Does this mean that I'll never be able to turn it on again??!!

the buttons on my tv has got lots of problems

My model is a Phillips GR1. The following methods may well work for others as well: All done on TV, NO remote!
The GR1 has 40 channels...from 0-39. Go to channel 38, and press the + Control button. This switches off the Child Lock, sometimes called the Hotel setting.
Next, press STORE followed by + Control. This starts off the channel search. Each time it stops on a channel, press + again, until the station or video signal you want appears. Then press Channel+ or - to pick the channel number where you want to store it. Finally press STORE.
