In system speed dialing results are a truncation of the first character and inabillity to place the call for all saved numbers which are entered. eg. 978 452-1000 results in 784521000 being dialed and failure of the efforts to place the call. I am uncertain if the restrictions TRS etc are blocking my efforts to speed dial. I did list the phones as COS 1. Maybe there are other factors in programing the phone and / or system I do not understand.
Any help is appreciated.
Also, my efforts to progam the PBX by modem have failed despite many alternate efforts. I now use USB access but this is done with some difficulty because of the particular setup I have.
In that FAQ, there is this explanation of your problem:
When I tried to access speed
dial, it does not call out. When storing speed dial
number of external parties, the stored speed dial number must include CO
(outside line) access code (9 or 81…etc) even with direct line access. If the
external number is 1234567, you must store the speed dial number as 91234567. This rule applies to all system speed
dial, station speed dial and speed dial key.
It looks like you're just going to have to add a leading 9 to all the speed dial numbers for that function to work.

ou can save up to 8 phone numbers in your speed dial book. The speed dial keys go from 2 to 9. When you place a call, our system prompts you to "enter the phone number you wish to dial". You just press the appropriate speed dial key followed by the pound sign (#) and your call goes through. No long numbers to enter any more!
If you set a speed dial for our access number on your phone machine, you have to press three keys only to complete a dial - as easy as "1-2#"! That's it!
For example, you can set your parents' phone number as speed dial key 2 and your friend's number as key 3. After dialing the access number from your phone, you will press 2 then # to reach your parents, or press 3# to reach your friend. Nothing could be easier! Speed Dial set up Instructions: Dial the access number, wait for prompt. Enter PIN number, wait for prompt. Dial: "#" "2" "#" [a speed dial number: 1-9] "#" [destination number] "#". The system will confirm the number. Example: [#] [#] [#] [011-888-88-88-88-88] [#] Use Speed Dial: Dial the access number, wait for prompt. Enter PIN number, wait for prompt. Dial: [speed dial key (1-9)] "#" Hope this will help to solve the problem....

Pause seems to work ONLY in saved speed-dial numbers. BUT... One work-around to dial any number you want with a pause is to save the number you want to dial as a speed dial number. When you enter a speed dial number to save to memory, hitting the "*" button repeatedly cycles through the symbols, one of which is the dash. The dash symbol will be dialed as a 2 second pause when you use that saved speed dial.
Yes, it is pretty stupid that you cannot use this same method (hitting * key to cycle through) to insert a pause in a manually dialed number. No, I do not know a way to do it in a manually dialed number.
