  • This vidoe will demonstrate how to properly lubricate your treadmill belt and deck. This demonstration is for the application of liquid lube.
  • To begin, clean the deck and belt by loosening the rear roller bolts 10 turns as seen in the video. It is best to loosen each side five turns and then repeat the process.
  • Now that the belt is loose you can take an old towel and place it under the belt as shown in the video. Move the towel up and down the deck, then using your hands pull the belt around half way to ensure you have completely cleaned the back of the belt. Then remove the towel.
  • Open your lube packet and use half of the package to make a half circle on the deck, from the front outer portion of the deck toward the center and then back to the outer edge. Use about half the package for this arc. Now repeat the process on the opposite side. Be sure to wipe up any excess oil as it is very slick!
  • Use your hand to move the belt around some more to begin spreading the lubricant out.
  • Now tighten the rear roller bolts back to the exact amount of turns they were loosened previously.
  • Power on and start the machine and let it run slowly for a few seconds to make sure the belt is staying aligned in the center of the deck area. If it is not centered correctly, make minor adjustments to correct the issue. Tighten the left bolt to move the belt to the right and tighten the right bolt to move the belt to the left. Now walk on the belt for a minute or so to fully distribute the lubricant.
  • This concludes todays demonstration of how to lubricate a treadmill using the liquid lube.

Normally most home treadmills are 250-300lb user capacity.
Call Precor with your model # and S/N and they can tell you exactly.

not to sound funny but are you sure that you have this tread set in the units (mpg/kph) that you require. i have worked in loads of gyms and its a common problem that people think the belt is running to fast because its set in kph and that thinks its in miles eg 9mph = 14.5kph
you can check and change the units in the club setting menu.

Error 22 means the drive motor is diconnected. you will hear the fan and other parts make noise but check the red and black anderson connection between the main circuit board and motor.

Do you know which version of the Precor 9.21 you have? There are a few different versions you can view here. Click on your version to view the parts list and look for "Cover, Motor" or "Motor Cover".

For instance, if you have the 9.21 (AYYZ), the proper motor cover is this part #5019749

However, this part #5005569 is listed as the proper motor cover for the 9.21 (F5), 9.21i (2X), 9.21s (F6), 9.21si (2Y), and a couple others. Make sure you have matched up your exact model number with the motor cover you need so do you not order the wrong part.

When the drive motor works harder it will start overheating. If the belt is not lubricated periodically, it will ruin the deck, the drive motor, and cause other electrical problems such as tripping the breaker [after a while, the circuit breaker on the treadmill will need to be replaced.

It is suggested to lubricate the belt every month.

My 933i is tripping my house circuit breaker at higher speeds. I think there is more resistance in the belt (It's never been serviced).

This really sounds like the results of long term use without lubrication or wax between the belt and deck. Chances are you will need to replace the running belt and the deck or flip the deck if it has not already been done. The friction builds up between the deck and belt and caused the electronic components to overheat. The machine is shutting down as a precautionary measure. It will do this only so many times before the electronics are zapped. Start with the deck and belt. Hopefully the electronics are okay. Belt feels like it slips when I'm walking
If the belt is worn on the underside you will definitely want to replace the belt. The link at the bottom will take you to a video on how to use a liquid lube on your treadmill. Lubricating the belt/deck every 30 days will prolong the life of the belt and the deck.

The friction caused by excessive wear on the belt and/or the deck can cause a high amp draw and make the drive motor work harder than it's designed to.

My Treadmill shuts down after 10 mins on it. Can it be over heating. what could be wrong.
If you have not ever lubricated the running deck then I suggest doing so . What happens is that the lack of lubrication will tend to make the belt drag or stop . The lower board will register a excessive current thus shutting down. If the lubrication does work then you may need to replace the running belt and flip the deck if this process has never done.
