Most likely it is the High Voltage Control board located in the unit compartment (take off the back cover where the water lines are) i have had lots of them failing and doing all kinds of odd things, so far it has been that computer. Part number 12002608

Texas, sounds like your water reservoir is frozen up. Remove your 2 cripser drawers, you will see the reservoir behind them. Take a hair dryer and go over the tank and tubing ends. See if the water starts flowing. I find a lot of frozen water reservoirs on these french door models. They have a insulation kit for them. Catriver.

The defrost thermostat on the defrost heater is probably bad, it's a good place too start.

SOURCE: Ice Maker stopped making ice - water dispenser is fine.

I have had the same problem with different problems each time. The first time the stop lever came loose on one end. This resulted in the ice maker remaining in the off position but looked like iWhen I removed that it worked again. Hope this helps

Frozen water on the bottom of frezzer

Hi there, it sounds like the freezer needs to be unplugged and defrosted, now if it does this automatically which some do and the ice water that was frozen goes through a pipe and out through waste water outlet, after it is completely defrosted you should turn down the freezer dial by at least one digit and keep a check on this to make sure that its not over freezing and causing this problem, on some models the automatic defrost does not work as it should , and even when they do work it is not defrosted enough , so do it manually for a perfect job, note that any food that is in the freezer can be wrapped in news papers while the work is been done , they will be well frozen for the time it takes to defrost , you can speedup the defrosting with a bowl or pot of boiling water placed in the bottom of freezer, make sure that the water outlet is not blocked with food debris..
hope this will be of some help to you.

(There is a defrost heater on the evaporator in that area.If
you have a VOM you could check it with the power plug pulled out of the wall socket)

if you access the area turn the defrost timer on (clockwise)it should get warm in that area and you shoud hear a popping sound

If you want to tackle the job for yourself all the manuals are here

Will not dispence water

My water dispensor INSIDE the door froze up.
I payed a repair guy $75 to use MY BLOWDRYER to "thaw" the frozen water line INSIDE the freezer door (below the water dispenser).

He said anytime the frozen food extends over the freezer shelf and touches the freezer door for a long enough period of time, the water line inside the door FREEZES!!

PREVENTION: "Keep some airspace between the door and frozen food."

Refrigerator is not cold (50);freezer is working; vents not blocked. What can I do? Fan is working, & compressor does kick on.

Nine out of ten times it turns out to be a defrost issue. What most people dont understand is the refrigerator gets its cool air from the freezer. If the evaporator coil in the freezer becomes a block of ice then the airflow from freezer to fridge section is blocked. The block of ice along with already frozen foods in the freezer compartment help to keep those foods frozen. Therefore you assume the freezer section is fine. However, the lack of cool airflow to the fridge side quickly turns that 38 degree air into 50 degree air. You could try unplugging the fridge and leaving doors open for 24 hours, this will thatw the evap coil. Plug it back in after the 24 hours, and within 12-24 hrs everything should be cool. If the fridge continutes to cool for about 3-6 days and then fails again, you certainly have a defrost problem. This is long winded, but hope it helps

How to defrost the water line coming into the icemaker? The water line that goes from the fridge to the freezer is frozen and the icemaker does not have water to make ice and the water dispencer does not...

Good day,
The machine has problems and they hve to be addressed.
The machine needs to be shut off, and the food moved.
I do not recommend using a hair dryer since it can melt things you never want to melt.(Those components are plastic and vinyl).
The DUAL WATER VALVE in the bottom back of the machine, needs replaced at the same time, since it's the cause of your problems.
As well, the line to the water outlet could be frozen, which means defrosting the freezer door completely.
Looking at a 12 hour minimum off time, with the machine unplugged.
Using a floor fan blowing into the freezer compartment will reduce that time to approx. 8 hours.

Freezer will not keep foods frozen fridge will not keeep temp.

Sounds like a main control board problem keeping the freezer fan from working . If no air flow to the top of the freezer , the icemaker will stop working and the ice will begin to melt ( leaking from freezer ) . The coils will start to freeze up due to no air flow across them . If continued for a period of time , the cold air could return thru the return vent located in the bottom of the ref/freezer section and freeze the water tank in the refrig section , causing the no water thru dispensor .

My ice maker is not making ice and has no water in the tray. the incoming line appears to be fine. Roper model #RS25AWXAL00 water dispencer puts out very little water. Ice maker works but cubes are...

Frozen water line at input to the ice maker. You need to defrost the freezer - this means moving freezer food to a dry ice loaded cooler for a while and then let the freezer defrost about 4 hours. That should do the trick.

Water Dispencer not working.

check your freezer for ice. do you have alot of ice in your ice maker tray? if so your water line could be frozen. try to self defrost the freezer for about 3hrs to thaw out the water line. check your water valve also. when you call for water do you hear a humming or buzzing noise? on ge fridges ive worked on if you hear a humming noise when calling for water, most likely your water valve is ok. trace the water. meaning where does the water start? at the wall then through a hose then to your valve which is behind fridge on bottom. trace the hoses and you will find the prob
