I have blue and smash lines on my laptop screen

Such lines are generally caused if the screen makes a hard contact i.e. collides with something. Also don't smash the screen onto the laptop when you close it. Such repairs are generally done by the concerned PC companies directly. They may ask you to change whole screen.

Sounds like you screen is going bad. If the lines are there all the time the you will need to replace you screen to fix the problem.

The blue lines are a sign that the screen itself is failing. You can try to reseat the data cables from the motherboard to the back of the screen, but in most cases this is indicative of an immenent screen failure.

Yes the screens can be replaced and if you're half decent with a screw driver (and have the patience of a monk) it's probably worth attempting yourself.

Ball park figure for a new screen is around £150 but I recommend you get on eBay and buy either a used screen or smashed up laptop and take the screen off that. It should work out a much cheaper repair.

The price of a new tv - the screen must be replaced (it's unfixable) and that will cost almost as a new tv.

if the laptop is under warranty, change it as soon as possible. it's an indication that your screen is gonna die soon.

Try hooking up an external monitor to the video adapter on your laptop. If the screen appears fine (no blue line) then your video card is good but you laptop's LCD monitor is bad. I would check eBay for a replacement. They are not too difficult to replace if you are somewhat mechanically inclined (can unscrew some screws and disconnect a wire plugged in the motherboard).

I have had the same problem

This happens from overheating or from physically abusing the screen

I have an acer, which can take a lot of punishment, but i throw it around and keep it on 24/7 until it gets so hot the plastic starts to smell and melt

Awesome computer, it still works very well for the price (500$)

It developed blue lines on the screen lately and i know from previous experience acer will replace your screen as this may be a factory problem

If you're a freak like me who runs his computer all the time though, they aren't going to listen to you for one second and you have to deal with it

A) Dont use your computer as much (that sometimes fixes it)
B) Buy a better cooling deck
C) Dont abuse the screen (any bending or even the slightest tap can kill it)
D) If the problem doesnt go away, make peace with it and get used to it
E) Replace the screen (i dont want to, so now i have kewl blue lines on my screen)
