Hp 7210xi officejet printer makes sound after power surge when plugged in but will not respond

Hp 7210xi officejet printer makes odd sound after short power surge and is not responsive until I unplug it. when I plug back in the sound continues. How can I reset printer? I have tried plugging directly into wall receptacle. There is a black box type external power supply and appears to have no light on it at all. Thanks

It sounds like you've done all the troubleshooting properly. I would contact HP or search their website for other users that have had similar problems. Also might be a good idea to check HP's site for new drivers, they change almost daily :)

SOURCE: hp laserjet makes a continuous screeching noise when plugged in and will not print.

I have an identical situation. I have isolated the source of the loud screech to the (laser scanner assembly) p/n RGO-1041. The unit is located underneath the top cover, where the printed paper rests after it is ejected. I had to remove the right and left side covers, then remove the three screws holding down the top cover. There are two screws up front and one to the rear, it then lifts straight up. The laser scanner has a ribbon cable, and four purple wires going to it, oh yeah there is a big yellow warning label, so you can't miss it. I hope this helps. Sorry, I accidentally posted this in problem section.

Front panel not responding

Please perform the following steps:

1. Unplug the power cord from the unit.

2. Press and hold OK and Cancel buttons together while plugging in the power cord back to the unit.
3. Turn on the unit.

If the issue persists, please replace the unit. From my experience repairing coast HP OfficeJet 7310xi is almost equal to the coast of a new printer.

7210xi has problem printing on back of pages

This is not a fix, but a workaround. When you need to print on the back of a page, remove all other paper from the tray. It's not rocket science but it works. Your printer's manual probably says not to print on both sides.

I have lost the installation disk for my Hp Officejet 7210xi All-In-One.

Go to http://www.hp.com and put in the model number of the printer and download the printer drivers for the operating system you are using.

Hp officejet v40 printer

Remove both the ink cartridges from the All-In-One.
Unplug the power cord from the All-In-One as well as the power outlet.
Now move the carriage (carriage is the one which holds the cartridge) Too and Fro till you feel the carriage is moving smoothly.
Then insert the cartridges close the access door.
Plug the power cord directly to a wall outlet without surg protector.
Before connecting the power cord to the All-In-One press and hold the # and no 6 button and then insert the power cord, do not release the keys until you see a message a reset (if the screen goes blank then release the keys and turn the power on)
Now try printing a test page or make a copy

All lights keep blinking

I would try some simply things first. 1. Pull the power plug and wait for approximately 15 to 20 minutes before plugging back into outlet. 2. If your power plug is plugged in a power strip then try pluggin directly into the wall outlet. 3. I would make sure there are no paper jams. 4. If you recently installed ink cartridges, then check to make sure they are the right make and model for your printer. Comments: If you had a power surge the printer may just need to be powered off for awhile. Some printers will hold there settings for at least 15 minutes.
