Hi, You can use a power adapter to run the phone.(Base)
If it is a cordless you will need battery(s) in the phone unit. Make sure that battery(s) are put in correctly + to+ and - to -. Otherwise it won't work properly. Hope that helps you.

If you want to recover Windows Vista factory settings, go to "Control Panel", then "Backup and Restore Center." There you can choose to restore your operating system using system restore or to restore your system from a previously saved restore point.

Then put an USB stick in the pc and move the downloaded file from the desktop to the USB stick. Now move the stick to the other pc and double click on the file to launch it.

DELETING A STORED NUMBER
1. Press the SAVE/PHONE BOOK button.
2. Press the UP or DN button to find the one you want to delete.
3. Press the RE/PA/DEL button. The unit will ask you to delete the selected telephone number and the
LCD Display will show "ERASE ITEM?".
4. Press again the "RE/PA/DEL button to delete. The LCD Display will show "ERASED":
5. Press the SAVE/PHONE BOOK button to return to STANDBY mode.

My best solution so far:I power cycled (unplugged the power supply) with the phone line cord unplugged and waited a couple of minutes, repowered and plugged line cord back in.
Light now back ON
I not sure the extent of settings that are retained on a power down. I did have a couple of incoming caller IDs that were still there after powering back up.
