How do i install an epson lx 300 printer to a vista machine using a parallel to usb converter? i can't locate nor create usb 001 port with the driver cd of the said printer.

Asus laptop I am guessing only has USB interfaces
lx-300 being a pre-historic printer most likely it uses a centonics parallel interface connector..
you might need a usb to centronics adapter
no guarantee asus will accept adapter there might be a driver as well for this type of adapter

You maybe able to find an adapter BUT the problem will be finding a printer driver for this old printer.

Windows 7 removed all legacy support for hardware (including parallel port printers). The USB to parallel cable will not be able to accomplish what you are trying to do in this case.

I have the same problem...Epson does not work with a parallel to usb cable or adapter. If you still want to use this printer you will have to use the parallel port or change the interface on the printer to USB.

Dear! It is very to solve that matter use the USB converter for that solution and you can purchase a PC USB slot for that solution.

First, you must install the driver of lx-300+. open control panel, printer n fax then find epson lx 300+. Don't forget to test what port that your lx-300+ support. LPT1. Then print test page...If your printer run... it's finish... you have succses instal the printer...

plz check all the settings, language setting must be check , after that if the problem not solved then uninstall the driver and again reinstall the printer driver
