No Picture only sound polaroid tv tdx 03211c

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

Sound but no picture.

It sounds like it is the picture tube. The same thing just happened to me. The back of my television started smoking and then there was no picture.

While watching the TV the picture suddenly went out - still have sound. Turning the TV off and on again does not help - the POLAROID Logo displays, but when the station connects - still no picture

possibly external power supply faulty under load it may fail these power supplies ofen have capacitor failure open the power supply to check for leaking/bulging/swollen capacitor is around 2000uf rated at 12v

there might be some loose contact inside the board
check those chips for any fire r anything 
this could happen due to heat also
