I need a driver for the floppy that came pre-installed on my emachine t1090

Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "eMachineSupport" or "Gateway" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Download and install the drivers. You can also try Driver Guidehttp://www.driverguide.com

Disc slot

If you are speaking of a 3.5 floppy, you won't find one on the newer systems. 3.5 Floppys are out of date and are rarely put into new sytems. If you have data that you would like to retrieve from some old floppy disks, you will need to go to a computer store ie: Bestbuy or CompUSA and get an external USB Floppy drive. Then you can save them to your hard drive and then burn them to a CD or DVD.

Hope this helps you.

Bought new computer...emachines..EL1300G-02w windows xp....small disc came with machine computer care plan...has antivirus and backup online....put small disc into reader and it fell out and stuck in...

Call the company you bought it from so they can fix it for free and do it right away, if there isa problem you can do an exchange within 30 days of purchase without haveing to wait just a straight swap out. sounds like the 1.44 MB floppy is bad or the screws were not in the A Drive

Can u add a floppy drive to an emachines?

according to this, the motherboard is an ECS MCP61SM-GM

http://www.e4allupgraders.info/dir1/motherboards/socketam2/ecsMCP61SM-GM.shtml

it says it has a floppy header onboard for adding a regular 3.5" floppy drive.

you can also find usb floppy drives that you can attach and use when you need without opening the machine.

Emachines t2542

Assuming you didnt leave a floppy disc in the drive causing windows to boot from floppy, if you have disconnected the drive you have to tell the bios not to look for the drive. Press F2 or Del while the pc is booting up and in the first window may be the option Halt on all errors, dissable this if it is enabled and also there should be a section to check for the floppy drive on boot up (this can stop the boot sequence if not found), dissable this also, this part could be in the main window where it shows the date and time or in the advanced cmos settings. If you have changed anything save settings and exit. Any pc will boot without the floppy drive, so there must be something stopping it from booting and at the moment it points to the floppy.
